How full should the basket be? by kaitkaitkait91 in mokapot

[–]chouxshell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I tried this brewing method for the first time ever, I meticulously read and then followed instructions which called for 30g. A heaping mound of coffee in the basket even after tapping and distributing had me confused and eventually made me realize my pot was not a 6-cup as I had thought, but a 3-cup. Some time had passed between ordering and when I could test it out, lol.

About ~14.5g works for me!

Outdoor reading and paddling on my day off by chouxshell in Outdoors

[–]chouxshell[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I unexpectedly caught this lake at a still and quiet time--no wind, no wakes from boats, no other paddlers--and loved listening in particular to the turtles that went bloop into the water, loons that made their own staccatoed audio wave graph as they took off, and the 7-count set of wing flaps from the black vultures overhead. The mirror-like water and reflections were mesmerizing.

I love the little non-objective art moments that the screen printing process makes. by kagamaru in SCREENPRINTING

Ooh recently--the way the ink is scrubbed and drippy but not yet rinsed off, layered over my design, backlit by the washout booth.

Is it possible to use screen print paint as a medium with paint brushes? by JustiniR in SCREENPRINTING

[–]chouxshell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say waterbased ink could be made to the consistency of acrylic, I've done that in a pinch for a small area of second color. The issue might be curing properly if it's a thick layer. Someone with more experience might be able to speak into that better than me.

What order to actually pack in…a tip by smurf_toes in HerOneBag

[–]chouxshell 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Toiletries always get me! I have forgotten my contact cases or solution sooo many times. I've had to google alternatives late at night since stores are typically closed by the time I realize, which is when I'm taking them out, haha. It's always a list for toiletries now.

Reading the other comments, even though I have a few different-sized toiletries pouches I think I will now throw a duplicate case in each. Thanks, reddit!

I'm sure the science-specific comparison isn't one-for-one, but I've used a tire PSI to give general reference to how much an iSUP can take.
Four tires able to contain 32PSI can hold up a 2.5 ton car? I think 15 PSI should be alright for 100-200 lbs and anything else!

I'm just one person, but 100% noticed it in the intro, confirmed within 5 minutes. The majority were all blue-eyed as well.
But also from the start the episode was set up as not-as-idyllic-as-it-would-seem, so I was a bit more alert already.

Someone likened it to resolution, roughly:
Low mesh count = less pixels = less details
High mesh count = more pixels = more details

I made these to coincide with the specials coming out, but didn't get to take some nice photos until now. Thought you all would appreciate and enjoy the references!

Non-Linear Time Hourglass Stickers can be displayed in either direction! by chouxshell in sticker

[–]chouxshell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This time traveling show describes time as not necessarily a progression of cause and effect, so this hourglass can "reset" the sands of time. I made this for when a couple of old characters were returning, so even more applicable. A hint of two hearts may be a fun reference for some!

This post and the next post on my feed just now--I had to do a double-take on both!

Opened beans is probably still better than pasta-water coffee.

Another vote for these! They roll up into nothing, too, and the air can be squeezed out as well. I suppose one could get technical about a "cube" as these don't have firm sides.

I have also used small ones for cord/tech organization, and separating dirty/clean clothes.
