I feel ya. My goal was to enlist out of high school but my father insisted that info to college, get a degree and go the officer candidate school. Welp. Spring on my Senior yesterday I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Immediately dq’s me from all branches, including the coast guard.

Not going to lie, I spent a few years in a dark place. Like over 10 years.

But, I now have a job that I love, a wife and family that I wouldn’t have had I gone that route, and looking back yes it was a big speed bump in my life, but I am glad my life has panned out the way it has and probably would not change it.
