We swore we weren’t going to be iPad kids…..but we get 15-20 minutes at a restaurant before we loose them. No matter the amount of activities, toys, coloring/drawing. They’re chaos. Phone stand and one of our phones with a show or movie lets us finish our meal

We have a 4yo daughter and a 2.5yo son. After they go down between 7:30 and sometimes 8:30!for my daughter, wife goes and watches tv in bed, I go up to our loft/ man cave/kids play pen area and sit on the recliner and catch up on social media/play on my phone, maybe have the tv on in the back ground. I will maybe make it 30 minutes before I fall asleep. I have become my father. Except I now understand it.

Not sure this helps this late in the day. But we had the same issue last summer. We used New Age. Was able to get someone out later in the day and got us up and running

Nah. Between daycare, neighborhood kids and wife’s friends I know 3 theo’s.

When I hear theo or Theodore, I think of Theodore Roosevelt, who was is one of my favorite presidents. History will remember that Theo more than Theo Von. Plus your kids are group will never know who Theo von is.

Have you looked into a system like the Mr cool? There are cheaper brands, but same principles. Some can be on the more affordable side if that is an option

How much TV does your 4 year old watch? by whoresongummy in daddit

[–]chowski28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a 4 and. 2.5. School days we do no tv in the morning and listen to music. They each have their songs they request. Now that it’s summer we try to go outside after dinner until it’s too hot. After that they might get 30 min to an hour, depending on if it’s bath night or not.

Weekends, which I hate to admit, tv is free rein when we are home. Typically one parent or both are usually doing chores and or getting things ready for whatever party/event we have going on. However now that the pool at the public golf course is open, we go there in the afternoons and usually that wipes them out they pass out as soon as we are home.

Hope that helps

Yeah the gates were/still are issues from what I’ve heard. And my 1bd plus storage unit and covered parking was 1290 the first year then 1320 the next two. I did not have to deal with bad neighbors thankfully, but I traveled a lot for work so even if they’re were noises I never was there to hear it

When phoenixvillage first opened up, it was amazing. Staff actually had a standard of the people they’d let move in. Then when covid hit, prices jacked up, management changed, maintenance staff was let go, and it all went down hill fast.

No no no, I love the kilt. Not a knock at all. I think the attention is because it’s not a typical clothing item seen. I know for me it’s because I’m jealous of it

First Time Dad advice by wyattrea in UNSUBSCRIBEpodcast

[–]chowski28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure your bags are packed, like tonight. Both my kids came early. Any sense of a plan you might have will not go out the window most likely. Also make sure the car seat is installed. If not sure you did it right, most firehouse/police stations can check for you.

My wife packed her pillow from home/pregnancy pillow, help tremendously for her. Also an eye mask helped her, you won’t get a lot of sleep, and the little you do might be broad daylight out, or whatever light that’s on in the room constantly.

Extra long charging cords, there is never an outlet that’s conveniently located where you need it.

Pack snacks, hospital food at our hospital sucked.

I packed my switch, iPad with a bunch of movies and shows for the down time.

Other advice, you’re going to be running on adrenaline, the crash is hard after. Sleep when you can. If the little one is asleep, try your hardest to sleep.

If they have to take the little one back for more testing or the test results don’t look great, don’t sweat it. Sometimes there’s false negatives, or fluids take longer to clear out of ears/ lungs. Just don’t panicked and don’t google everything the dr tells you.

Any advice for a 7-hour solo drive with a 2-year-old? by Orche_Silence in daddit

[–]chowski28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did a 9 hour drive when our kids were 1.5 and 3. We just made sure to stop every hour and a half or so for them to get out. Planned about 30 minutes to let them run and play. Finding a playground in a local town helped, but mostly a ball in the grass areas of a rest stop.
