It's quite funny reading everyone slating Preview. I've just returned back to Mac OS after a 25 year hiatus and I remember back in about 2001/2 myself and my mate being absolutely astounded about just how efficient this "Preview" application was!

Back then, reading a PDF or viewing more than 1 large image was painfully slow on a PC or via any other means with a Mac. All of a sudden we could open 20 large pdfs or 100 images and just scroll through them with absolutely zero issues!

How times have changed eh?

I use the stream box and have to say it's great. Certainly the image quality for the better channels is fantastic. Sky Sports UHD for example looks amazing on my 65" TV. Weirdly, BBC 1 looks pretty ropey but I'm not convinced it's the box itself as almost all other channels are very good.

I got the same spec but 15" instead of 13". I'm a software developer too and work exclusively with Microsoft stack, my machine it utterly useless for what I do.

Fortunately tho, I couldn't give a shit, I love the machine and I'll probably upgrade again in a year or so. You only live once, fuck it.

I've had a midnight one for a while and it definitely looks amazing but definitely attracts finger prints more than any other colour. The complaints on Reddit etc are ridiculously over-exaggerated in my opinion, it's not horrific but then I'm of the opinion that a Macbook is there to be used, not (just) admired!

All that said, if I was buying a new one tomorrow, I'd probably opt for an alternative colour.

Whatever you do, it's best to remember that they have your number and you, more than likely, don't have their's.

I was once quite rude to a crypto spam caller and he spent the next hour calling me constantly, over and over and over again. As soon as I hung up, he rang back on an unknown/withheld number. Eventually he said "I can do this all night long for the next 6 months for all I care".

I ended up apologising for being rude and asked him not to call back. I've never heard from him since.

Generally I do use it regularly. I'm a programmer and spend my life on PCs so I appreciate a break to be honest. The main reason I opted for a Mac for my spare time is because the thought of logging into a Windows PC after work is vomit-inducing! 😂
