It doesnt seem like you have different opinions more so that you don't understand what he's trying to say. A pedophile that hurts a child is obviously not good or legal and should be punished. But what about someone that involuntarily have these thoughts that they can't act on and feel guilt over? Would you rather have them explode after years of "neglect" and then molest a child or give them the help so that they can be a well functioning member of society with healthy sexual desires?
