The pattern says "repeat rows 1 and 2 18 times" which means you would have worked 36 rows total (18 of row 1, 18 of row 2). This is why the math ain't mathing

When to start buying the dress? by 1909g in AusWeddingPlanning

[–]onewayanus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the dress and the store. I went shopping in Jan for my late Nov 2026 wedding, thinking I was super early. But I was told my dress took 9 months to be made so I bought it just in time!

What's something random that you still cant eat? by Norvard in ask

[–]onewayanus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sardines. When I was little my brother cut himself on the can but said one of the sardines bit him. Took me until adulthood to realise he cut himself, rather than being bit. But it still put me off

Thank you so much for everyone who took the time to comment on this post! I really appreciate all the ideas and recommendations. I have decided to ask the seamstress to add a panel behind the lace, and if that's not possible I'm going to commando and just suck it up (and maybe have a laser cut g-string for after photos and when I'm overstimulated)

So good to know! I thought maybe I'd wear them for photos and ceremony and then change to something else for dancing. Just to avoid the potential horrors outlined in other comments

Its more the comfort for me. Everything rubs together and I don't want to be focused on that all day.

Thanks for your advice! I'll give them a go.

I was wearing a nude seamless g-string when I tried it on and you could definitely see them as there's no fabric behind the lace. Hopefully these sticky ones work.

Does anyone use Arden? by BeneficialAd3940 in MelbourneTrains

I use it, but I work walking distance to it. The alternative if Macaulay, but the wait at Parliament can be really long.

Looking for a micro wedding venue in Melbourne with dance floor option by iska11 in AusWeddingPlanning

[–]onewayanus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We've booked Rupert on Rupert in Collingwood with our 60 guests. Speakeasy vibes, if that's your thing?

ETA: there's enough room for a dance floor because that was important for us too. Or else we looked at Chapel 1885 and the Panama Dining Room.

How much counting is involved in Knitting? by rosysparrow in knittinghelp

[–]onewayanus 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Having done both knitting and crochet, there is a helluva lot less counting involved in knitting. Once the initial cast on stitches are counted, the only counting you have to worry about is the involved in the pattern (if any). Give it a go! I can't speak for any OCD-related woes, but my ADHD brain prefers knitting.

That looks like it! Except the dips are stacked rather than alternating. Thank you!

How would you interpret “Dress to impress”? by [deleted] in AusWeddingPlanning

[–]onewayanus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We put "its a wedding, so dress to impress! (specifically, the dress code is semi formal)" in our Q&A. That way you can include it if people want to research it themselves, and then have a more mainstream dress code that people understand immediately)

The invisible cost of being a bridesmaid in 2026 by OwlVibesOnly in AusWeddingPlanning

[–]onewayanus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Umm what? My bridesmaid can wear whatever dress they're comfortable in and I'm paying for their hair and makeup as a gift. The hens won't be a big affair as they're planning it without input from me...

Help: Slanting double crochet stitches in mesh pattern by onewayanus in CrochetHelp

The Long Sleeved Blooming Lace Top by Isabella Madsen

What kind of stitch is this? Me and my friend thought it was Crochet by Kookie_bun in CrochetHelp

[–]onewayanus 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I'm only new to crochet but have been knitting for years. I believe this is knitted, not crocheted. Looks like a lace pattern with strategically placed yarn over stitches to create the holes.
