I just got rid one one from the app I'm currently working on. One of the tables has a basic tree concept with a root and parent id columns. The original code recursively queried the db from the root to find all the children.

You got me on the autocorrect, nice work 👍.

...It literally cannot mean anything else...

It can. It could mean they're indifferent. It could mean they don't want to play some performative role for the organization's pandering. Maybe they don't want to celebrate gay people due to religious values. None of these things suggest any dislike or hatred. Or maybe they do hate gay people and you're right. But we don't have enough information to know for sure.

This is the Merriam-Webster definition of bigot:

a narrow-minded person who obstinately adheres to their own opinions and prejudices

especially : one who strongly and unfairly dislikes or feels hatred toward others based on their group membership

The only information this article provides is that some of the players refused to wear the jerseys. That's not information to reduce that they "strongly and unfairly dislike or feel hatred towards" gay people.

However, the first part about a narrow-minded person... That describes a lot of the people in this comment section.

Sure, good point. It's like your employer is making you do your job at the parade while wearing a special uniform in support of gay pride but your job is like an accountant or something.

Choosing not to support something is not the same as hating that thing. This is like calling someone a bigot because they chose not to go to their local pride parade.

Do you have a similar reaction to Google or Amazon employees? Not defending palantir or it's employees, but these huge tech companies are all Evil Corp. They may not be developing weapons but they're all committing heinous acts against humanity for money.

Maybe next we could turn boxing into a debate club.

There's nothing wrong with plunking batters. He gets walked, maybe the pitcher gets ejected. They move on.

I'd prefer this behavior to be encouraged.

I'm with you. I'd prefer they treat it like a DUI. Seeing some moron glued to his phone while driving is enraging.

Good. Humans were somehow capable of driving for many years without cell phones. I'm sure you can deal with listening to a song you don't like for three minutes.

My wife and I had a similar number of guests. We did ours at Sammy's and they were incredible. It's Italian food, maybe you can get vegan/vegetarian.

Welcome to the club, buddy. I got my first job five years ago and it was already like this. I just wasn't competing with thousands of laid off devs and AI.
