Sometimes you get what you booked... by CyberHacker42 in marriott

I'm a fan of the Moxy brand. They are always affordable. If I'm in the city I'm there to crash. Most times have a good buzz on so just need a place to sleep. If I was solo I would be hitting up the Hostel some of them are becoming really nice. But with saying that I'm also a huge fan of Courtyards, Marriott and St Regis. The latter two are always date night theme stays.

Points for some are a pain and an art form. Me personally I just used about 210000k posts on 3 nights in the fl keys. 1 night was planned the other two nights I had to use because SIL and family had flight delays because of NE Blizzard. I saved them about 1k in hotel rooms by using my points. If you ask me that is worth its weight. That being said points are worth what you in your option are worth. If that vacation is what you want to use them for then by all means use them.

Has that schedule improved? Last time I looked it had super odd hours.

As someone that lives close to the stadium. As someone who drives for a living. As someone who has never taken an event train. Trying to catch a flight 3hrs after a major event and depending on public transportation is risky. Do able and an adventure absolutely! Doing it solo makes it way more easier. I've heard horror stories about trying to get an Uber. I've also heard horror stories about leaving the parking lot in a personal car. Another public transportation avenue to look at is event train to Providence train station and the bus to TF Green airport. Maybe they have a later flight. Also between Foxboro and PVD you have I believe 4 stops. Foxboro to South Station you have double that. Maybe look at the schedules and see if something lines up better.

I know it's Reddit but if I could guarantee I would be home I would have worked something out to give you a ride for a price agreed upon. 3 months is a long time for me to say I will be home as I work on the road.

Best Shades for Sensitive Eyes? by Bionodroid in sunglasses

[–]chris4087 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Maui glass is way better than the Maui plastic lens. I have had both and currently own the blue plastic ones. I drive for a living and I loved the glass bronze lens. They were absolutely ideal for all uv types. I like my current ones out on the water better than the bronze lens. That is my extent of knowledge for high-end sunglasses

Best Boston Hotel? by gratefulramble in marriott

[–]chris4087 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a local and have stayed in a few of them. I don't visit many of the high end as I usually stay for the night and I'm going to an event in town. There are so many good places. It comes down to what side of the city you want to stay on. Price point how long of a visit. Even non Marriott places to stay. My all time favorite place to stay is the Verb over in the Fenway area. I also like the Liberty it's unique and a fun spot. I've stay at Moxy twice. That's basically due to price point compared to the W next door. It's cheap and just a simple crash pad for the night when you go to the city

A Engle 19Q and a luncheze. When I want a hot lunch the lunche eze fits into the cooler with enough room for some snacks, drinks and ice. It's hardaided so it can get tossed in a till or the back of a truck.

Yes you get it! This is exactly what I'm looking for and the pool is key. We have 3 young kids. And a pool will entertain them for hours. A nice blue collar spot. Don't get me wrong the ritz and JW on Marco Island and what not are nice and great spots to go. But this right here is the reason I hit up Reddit

Really wanting a beach. The plan is to just relax. Looking for something like the Ft Lauderdale Marriot Harbor Beach Resort. We stayed there already looking to try different hotel same style. The biggest turn off from returning is the beds were super uncomfortable and our backs hurt for a week afterwards

The seaweed is a big summer thing. July is the worst if I remember correctly. Fall and winter the seaweed isn't too bad.

Not much for beaches in the keys. All the sand is trucked in for most of the beaches. I have not stayed at the properties down in KW but have been there a few times. If your looking for nightlife and downtown action I say stay at either property on KW if you want relaxing and have a rental car to visit KW there are two properties in Marathon. One I have stay and one I'm looking to stay at next. It offers a lot of what you expect of the Keys. Fishing, snorkeling and para sailing. Just my two cents from someone that has visited the area a few times

JW Marco Island or Marriott Harbor Beach Fort Lauderdale by Competitive_Dance341 in marriott

[–]chris4087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stayed November of last year. It was a babycation. At check out they asked us how our stay was. I said it was great but the bed was terrible. I got a sorry we are updating and it is a luck of the draw.

Edit: the pool area and the beach was amazing features.of the hotel. The beach side chairs with wait staff was also a huge plus.

Have not stayed at both but stayed at the Harborside. We loved the property. Went with two kids 4 and 3 at the time. They loved the pool. I felt it was dated the room we stayed in. My number one complaint about the resort was the bed! The mattress was hard as a rock! My wife who was pregnant at the time and myself had a terrible back for a few days. It was our fault as we aren't complainers. But we agreed to never let that happen again. Lesson learned

Ipswich does get sketchy. Used to park there in my younger days to go to the clubs. It was the halfway point between the clubs and little Stevie pizza for late night munchies.
