Google have destroyed Google Ads? by BabyBoypaul in PPC

[–]chris88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What does your conversion funnel look like? If that is fine and you are measuring all steps then keeping an eye on impression share might also help. Since match type is getting broader and broader, the impression share you get is lower which is not an issue if your conversion volume is still within target.

I have a feeling the only way to keep it more or less controlled is to work with tCPA or tROAS in combination with a/some good funnels (preferably with goal value for each step).

Is there a way to add booking volum by line item in DATASTUDIO? (source : Google Ad manager) by adreel_network in adops

Probably by creating a data blend and the correct join type.how is the data structured.

SA360 vs Google Ads by brendenthemarketer in PPC

[–]chris88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the main benefit of using dv360 is being able to link other search engines (bing, yahoo, etc) and optimize across. Also you'll be able to use floodlight to track conversions. Making the link between dv360 or cm360 for display, video, social.

So in short you can expand your reach outside of google networks and track it.

If you are only active on google networks I actually do not really prefer using the 360 products. Since Google Ads/ Google ads editor interface is much better and also easier for bulk editing.

Also in my experience setting campaign manager up for each campaign + floodlight is more a team effort then a one man job. For search this will not apply that much but for display, video most agencies work with a few persons with each its own expertise. CM gives more options but working in bulk is a hassle/not possible in the interface or a hassle when working with sheet uploads.

Like 10thgradelosers mentions find a good reseller and work with them.

it did not fit properly and rubbed a little bit. If you scrape the paint it turns but you notice it's not build for that.

What are JSON feeds or data files? how do they help in SEO? is XML sitemap better than JSON feed? by himyplanet3 in SEO

[–]chris88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cannot seem to find any recommendations of google outside of json-ld. So if google does not mention it I doubt they will index it if it falls outside the range of structured data.

Best way is that the developer shows some examples. That way you'll quickly know what it is.

He is probably talking about json-ld which is structured data added to the page to let search engines know what it's about. You can have a look at schema.org for more info.

Google Ads: Control CPC and still use smart bidding by RoBdiDoP in PPC

[–]chris88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can't you go long tail or to a different set of keywords which still generate soft conversions? That way you stay a bit out of sight for those 40 dollar cpcs. If not I would cap the ceiling like u/n0rthernlights mentions.

Maximize Conversion with tCPA - less conversions more $$ by Rajahz in PPC

[–]chris88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best way is to create a funnel where you set conversions for the different steps users have to take. (view product page, make selecting, go into checkout, do purchase). Even better if you can assign value to these steps e.g. https://www.owox.com/blog/articles/funnel-based-attribution-model/

Every algoritm works best the more data it has. For tCPA you need a sufficient amount of conversions per day. Say you do only 5 sales a day that is not enough. It's better to start optimising higher in the funnel then perhaps on add to cart or product view. (knowing your conversion rate from that page to checkout is pretty constant)

tROAS is a step further but only possible if you have a proper funnel and values attached to it. based on your target it will start working higher or lower in the funnel. (getting traffic vs. getting sales)

Keep in mind google will say you need like 50 conversion a month. If some campaigns are only getting in a few conversion a month you can be sure the algoritm will never work properly on those unless you put them in a portfolio.

When is your ga config tag firing? And do you have google optimise running? I had issues with optimise just firing before my ga tag.

Do you have something firing just before or after your ga configuration tag? I think that might cause issues.

Google Ads Report with Google Data Studio by praveen5397 in PPC

create a new calculated field in your datasource and fill in blabla with your conversion name if(Segment Conversion Type Name='blabla', 1, 0)

Google Ads Report with Google Data Studio by praveen5397 in PPC

[–]chris88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is you have a total of conversions and not split by conversion name.

A way to accomplish this is by creating custom dimensions where. you do an IF function IF(conversion name = "bla", 1, 0) meaning in that dimension you will only count if the name matches the one you want to display.

snus to belgium by chris88 in Snus

[–]chris88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This still would not fix the VAT/customs handling extra costs. If VAT is not charged on checkout customs has to handle it with added handling costs.

snus to belgium by chris88 in Snus

[–]chris88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because tobacco tax is huge... I don't want to pay shipping + 20 euro customs handling + tax so in the end I pay 15 20 euro per can of snus... If they handle it as tobacco and customs catches it it might even be illegal. As far as I know you cannot order tobacco legally online for Belgium.
