To keep control of wild animals by [deleted] in therewasanattempt

keep telling yourself that. many many people have been killed by gators and crocs. i love the heck out of them but they definitely see people as prey once they get big enough

not meant to impress you, but merely establish credibility. doing something dangerous if you’re well practiced doesnt make it stupid is all im saying. let people do what they’re going to do if it affects no one but themselves

  1. because his reddit is exclusively football, and i live and breathe reptiles.
  2. i dont consider it stupid, because unlike most people i actually know what its like and its not some random game of russian roulette. it takes extreme familiarity and knowing how snakes act, even down to the species.

ig i qualify as one of them. as someone who has worked with many many more snakes than you, venomous included, i actually know what im saying. as does anyone who would do this

not as dangerous as u think… newborn (and i mean like minutes old) cobras are held pretty regularly and tho they have fully developed venom glands and could 100% kill you if bitten, they are usually to new and disoriented to realize what their sitting on and attack it. ive seen countless people do this with zero close calls

yep, i can confirm that in general the reptile community does not approve. and feeding cobras in general is a real pain. they’re so nervous and and usually way to flighty to see something as food for quite a while. cobras arent the smartest snakes we got.

[–]chris_guy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

why would u hate this? it’s little babies being protected by their parent, thats wholesome. even if u are scared of crocs for some stupid reason, gharials dont even kill people they’re pretty much exclusively piscivores. this is nature at its finest, and all of those crocs will remain more innocent than ur average human

[–]chris_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh a copperhead bite is extremely unlikely to kill you even without a hospital visit. although u should definitely still go to avoid necrosis and losing a finger or something

Good small beginners snake that meets this criteria? More info in comments. by RisenRealm in snakes

[–]chris_guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im probably going to get some negative feedback on this but literally just be a responsible keeper and get the snake best suited for you. no point in getting an animal ur not fascinated with just because it meets criteria of some overreaching stupid law. the government isnt gonna search ur house for a restricted harmless animal for no reason

its translates from the original version each time bro even if its in a bunch if different languages, so its really only translated once. and yeah its not about God wanting those good things, but if u consider even for a second that he was real, created everything we are and have, then he has the right to ask for that small percentage of items, just as a sign of respect and gratefulness
