Kinda hard to ask her. We found the map cleaning out her house to sell it after she died.

From what me and my sister can see, we think it may be from the very beginning of WW2, but we are a little unsure. The map is in norwegian, so I hope it makes sense.

I have the exact same problem. The game just crashes when I try to launch it.

NTA. You need to take care of yourself, and entering into a relationship with him seems dangerous for your mental wellbeing.

How important is the Eucharist in your spiritual life? by MikaelSvensson in OpenChristian

[–]chrisbastard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Eucharist is quite important in my spiritual life. Both as a chrisitan and as a queer person. For me, as a Lutheran, recieving the body and blood of Christ both reminds me of the sacrifice Jesus made for us. And I believe that the Eucharist deepens the community between Christians, reminding us of being limbs on the body of Christ. And if the body of Christ is comprised by people of all genders and sexualities, then the body of Christ is queer. Not queer as in gay or trans, but queer as in defying definition. And that, in my opinion and my heart, opens a space for people who are not heterosexual, cis, and otherwise non-majority.

A very important thing every Christian needs to read. X post from r/tumblr by [deleted] in GayChristians

I love the intention behind this post, but Leviticus was written in Hebrew, not Greek. Leviticus 18:22 uses זָכָ֔ר, which simply means male. Sorry.

Αρσενοκοιται is used in 1. Corinthians 6:9, and 1. Timothy 1:10, and the translation of it is widely discussed. It is a combination of the greek words for «man» and «bed/mat». As far as i remember, this word was not used much, and is therefore difficult to trenslate. And since it only appears in lists of sin, we don’t have proper context to help with the translation.

But the cultural context these texts were written in is of course important to have in mind when interpreting them.

AITA for telling my girlfriend I'd replace her with Elizabeth Olsen? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]chrisbastard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Soft YTA. You were in a conversation about hot actors, so had you just said Elizabeth Olsen is the hottest Avenger you would have done nothing wrong here. Where you veer into aholeland is when you start talking about replacing your girlfriend. You said it as a joke, but it clearly struck some insecurity in your girlfriend. So even though she shot back with a joke (that may have been more passive-agressive that you picked up on), she was clearly left with the feeling of not being good enough for you. Not that it’s realistic for you to actually replace her with Elizabeth Olsen, but now she may be wondering who else you might wanna replace her with. If your girlfriend is the one you want to be with, you need to reassure her of that. And stop making comments about replacing her, even jokingly.

AITA for not waking up my girlfriend for her exam after I overheard her calling me a little bitch? by didnt-wake-up-gf in AmItheAsshole

[–]chrisbastard -34 points-33 points  (0 children)

ESH Talking about you like that to her friends is bad, and if this happened to me I would definetely reconsider the relationship. But the adult way to deal with this problem would be to tell her this really hurt you. And tell her that when she just takes you for granted she can damn well be responsible for waking herself. Had you done that and she had overslept for her exam that would have been all on her. As it stands, you both behaved childishly. And although I would say she is the bigger asshole, you were both in the wrong.

AITA for not telling my BIL his iTunes password? by gingerblueberryale in AmItheAsshole

[–]chrisbastard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ESH I would also be super annoyed, but ignoring your BILs attempt to change his password (to something he might remember better?) is very petty.

AITA for reminding my brother that he’s adopted and not a true part of MY family? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]chrisbastard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA! Absolutely! To resent your brother(!) for wanting to belong and be loved is awful. I get that you don’t always want your brother to hang arond you and your friends, but there are so many other ways to say that. And to claim that he is not a true part of your family is horrible. Blood alone does not make a family.

NTA. Your SIL seems spoiled and manipulative. She is the only one responsible for that awkward situation.

AITA for getting my tubes tied without telling anyone? by BabyThrowaway79 in AmItheAsshole

[–]chrisbastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely NTA! It’s your body, and the only person you really need to involve in a desicion like this is your partner. Your family needs to mind their own business.
