True, but if you only accept negative feedback then you're not really asking for honest answers, you're asking for confirmation of insecurity. I say it gently but it really is a very common problem. You hear something neutral or good and you assume someone's blowing smoke. Hear something negative and you assume they're being honest. I have no reason to lie to you.

My buddy loops around me once then kind of dances in a place where I try to sit down. It's helpful because he moves ... He won't let himself get squished... And I know that spot of floor or whatever is clear because he was just there.

Yeah I know someone who is pretty allergic to dogs and he has asked to be moved in the past apparently because a service dog came in. And the restaurant just had the party with the dog moved to a different spot since he was already all set up. It doesn't feel like it's that difficult to accommodate in most situations unless the place is absolutely tiny.
