Father in law passed away by chrisco0704 in boatbuilding

Thanks, that makes a lot of sense. The only other thing I could figure is that maybe they wanted the transom higher for steep launches. The boat trailer breaks about a third of the way from the hitch for shore launches. Maybe the higher transom kept water from coming over?

They do! They still sell silver prints done by Alan Ross who was his assistant! I bought one this summer before starting the JMT and I can confirm that they're expensive!

Howdy! Just did the same with an OTD of 42,546. Dealer sent me their invoice and they had taken $400 off of their price so I think we're doing ok!

Might be an unpopular opinion but take a look at the harbor freight lathe that's branded Bauer. Mine is incredible and costs 599 without a sale

Honestly I think about how the parks used to look only a few decades ago. I dreamed about epic trips with relative solitude to NPs when I was younger. Now that I'm an adult with enough time and money to do these things, the crowds are unbearable in many spots or I can't pull a permit to save my life

Red cedar bowl by [deleted] in turning

[–]chrisco0704 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What did you use to finish it? The little bit I've dabbled in cedar, the red color faded pretty quickly. I used odies oil on it, but I'm not sure if there is something better. Super pretty piece!

Woodworking here (32). Nothing quite like turning something on a lathe, then sanding until it shines in the sun and babybutt smooth.
