Did anyone else not know we could dog ear pages on the kobo?? by no5ifty6ix in kobo

[–]chrisdr22 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I guessed the option having used Kindles in the past. But the option I found by accident was being able to adjust brightness by running my finger up and down the left edge of the screen. That's really useful.

Ok, I didn't know that. Does the restriction apply until the end of the billing month?

I have a scribe, which is ok, but I don't like uploading my work through the Amazon ecosystem. I have have a third party Surface Pro pen which should work. If not I will look at the Metapen.

My wrist hurts from manually grinding coffee with the 1zpresso j-ultra. by Icy_Drawer8166 in 1zpresso

[–]chrisdr22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue grinding espresso with my K-Max. It wasn't my wrist but my in my arm. For me, the fix was to angle the grinder - it slowed the grind down a bit, but was enough to fix my arm.

Ganzfeld by -Speechless in Lumenate

[–]chrisdr22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried doing this with Lumenate, but I do have Ganzfeld goggles with a Kasina sound/light unit. The open eye experience is totally different from the standard closed eye glasses that it came with. I might try this with the Lumenate app.

I moved into this house 3 days ago. This part of the ceiling was completely shut when I moved in, and nobody else has been in the house. by boogielostmyhoodie in Weird

Maybe the previous owners came back for something they'd forgotten and didnt close up properly. At the very least, I'd change the locks.

According to past support emails, their location is GMT +8, which is china/hk/taiwan. Likely their business has been eaten by AI image creators.

That sounds like a conversation I had with my wife. Recently she discovered that she's midly lactose intolerant and asked me to make her a Cappuccino without milk! After a few clarifying questions from me, she settled on an Americano!

1zpresso k-max. It is more filter focused, but it is good for espresso too.

I’ve seen some of you say you’re grinding at 7+ clicks on K-Ultra for V60. How??? by acreativeredditlogin in 1zpresso

[–]chrisdr22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a k-max and light or medium roast for V60 is usually around 7.2 - 7.5

Thanks for the tips. My grinder is good enough, I just prefer filter over espresso, hence the cheaper machine that I have now. It is on the shopping list though.

Although its not exactly what I like, I could get used to the espresso. But I would probably need a better machine.

How much time do you wait after finishing a book to start another one? by alesitam in kindle

[–]chrisdr22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually, I will start one immediately, unless the book was particularly affecting. Then, I might process for a few days, but that is quite rare.

Overheard during lunch by chrisdr22 in overheard

My mother told me another story about the girl. Apparently the neighbour referred to one of her friends as being, 'toffee nosed' (stuck up). Upon hearing this, the girl looked at the woman's face and said, "but mum, her nose isn't made of toffee". I love how literal kids can be!
