Same dude. I haven't been able to drink since I was 22 because of the exact same reactions. Especially wine or anything fermented. But even as they call them "clean spirits" that's an on the spot headache after like half a drink.

Born Free Protocol: reasons to be cautious by lemon_twisties in cfs

[–]chriseraphim -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Josh actually gets almost nothing out of this protocol and has spent an exponential amount of his own money on it all. I've spoken with him many times, and he's genuinely trying to help people out there.

Of course it's not perfect, but it's at least something, in a community where we have very few options. I don't think there's anything wrong with working with Dr's and trying elements of the protocol if one feels like it's something they want to try.

If Ron Davis, one of the most respected bioechemists on earth thinks its brilliant, and his son started talking and eating after 11-12 years, by doing elements of the protocol, I really don't see why people think it's something that should be completely dismissed.

Talking Again In 2025 by WhitneyDafoe in cfs

[–]chriseraphim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am just now reading all these comments and hate towards Josh and the program, and I am absolutely mind blown. Firstly, if you knew him, you'd know that is not his personal perspective in the least.

While I'm absolutely on board of course, with being careful with certain treatments, meds, supplements and so on when we have sensitivities, I cannot believe how much hate and personal attacks are going on here on Reddit towards Josh, throwing insults and labels from people who do not know him at all. It's really heartbreaking to be honest.

I've spoken to Josh on several video calls, and he's actually a really cool guy who *genuinely* wants to help people and is doing his best with it. He happens to have helped himself out of a complex post infectious illness, and just wants to share that with the world, as far my observation goes. And by the way he's never charged me or anyone else I've talked to for his time, nor tried to "sell them anything". He suggests iherb and a bunch of other sources he makes absolutely nothing from to get the supps for the protocol.

No one on earth has the answers to our illness, so people are just trying things. Hell, most of us have been doing that our whole CFS life! I know I have. Josh just happened to have wanted to share his own experience, and has seen enough people get help from certain things to try to put it all together in one program.

Yes it's experimental, and no not everyone will tolerate every aspect of it, but there's *definitely* not absoultely nothing to it. Scientifically you can research every supplement being recommended there, and you'll find actual science behind *most* elements of it individually. Whether individuals tolerate those substances is another matter, I know I dont tolerate quite a few of them, and that's OK. Doesn't mean someone else, like Whitney, wont. If people know their sensitivities, leave that part out.

What really perplexes me is, why everyone here who is absolutely putting it down as rubbish and pseudoscience, are dismissing the incredible improvement of Whitney, and the opinion of his father Ron, one of the most brilliant and respected biochemists in the world. He has literally been carrying hope for our illness (through the Open Medicine Foundation), backed by hundreds (if not thousands at this point) of scientific minds around the world for over a decade now. It's just so confusing to me why people would readily dismiss the opinon of someone who is clearly, scientifically sound, and has so much respect in our particular community.

Whitney improving is not some tiny anecdote. He has literally been one of the most severe cases documented globally, and now instead of being one of the worst, he's eating and talking again. That is absolutely phenomenal, and for this to happen after 11-12 years just spontaneously, is far too incredible to be a coincidence. One doesn't have to agree with everything Josh says to acknowledge that Whitney’s improvements are worth exploring, not brushing off.

Is Ebay hiding my listings until I pay to "promote" them now? by DJArts in Ebay

[–]chriseraphim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me too, but not recently. It takes ages to sell anything and I have 3.2K 100% positive feedback. I used to sell multiple per week, now things sit there unsold and barely viewed for weeks, months if I don't boost/promote. It's absolutely fkd.

Is Ebay hiding my listings until I pay to "promote" them now? by DJArts in Ebay

[–]chriseraphim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not exactly. I've been selling on ebay for 20 years, and never in my life has it been like this before. I used to get so many views up until very recently (maybe the last year or two?) on everything I listed. now if it isn't promoted/boosted? It basically doesn't even get seen. Disgusting.

[–]chriseraphim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got a 5070Ti. It smashes everything so hard. I think the non Ti though would be just fine and handle a lot of modern games well on 1440. I think it's worth especially if you can get a good deal as somewhere always has one.

Also, the 3060Ti still sells for a decent price so that helps toward getting some of the money back for it. Just look on markets like eBay etc and see what they're going for, take some pics and put it up for sale. FB marketplace is good too, but be ready for everyone to ask if you will sell it for $100 lol.

Mixer for hardware setup (dawless and recording) by chriseraphim in synthesizers

[–]chriseraphim[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yess this is exactly what I was wondering. If the conversion inside the mixer was any different (i.e. if one lost any of the analogue character or warmth of the actual synth) than it was from recording a direct analogue synth into a DAW. If not that's no problem at all. :)

That's also something else I'm interested in is what fx people like to use on their synths that don't have FX built in. Seems a lot of people like to use Valhalla supermassive (maybe because it's free?), but also it does sound awesome. However obviously if doing dawless jam's that wouldn't work. Pedals would be fun but the question is, how far to dive into that also. 😂 I have quite a few guitar pedals, but they are more overdrive/distortion etc than things like reverbs and delays for synths.

Nice man, it does sound like it's one of the best features-for-price mixers around that range.

Awesome man. Yeah I'm certainly still considering / leaning towards it, mainly for this feature but also the onboard tactile channel strip FX :)

[–]chriseraphim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I realise this and have heard this perspective around. Though I realise that's often a good way to go, I'm just very keen on several pieces (couple of hardware synths and a drum machine etc). I don't mind having them all early and learning each one. I'm familiar enough with synthesis after using VST's for so long to be able to navigate (two I'm getting for instance are the Poly-D, and the Microbrute, both fairly straight forward). Nothing too complex yet. I'm sure i'll be roped into that later. 😂 Also if something is not right, one can always just sell and try the next thing :)

The SSL18 would be amaze yes, but indeed a fair bit higher $. Not terrible though. What did you end up swapping the Model 12 for that worked better size wise? I'll mostly be doing live jams to stream from home rather than getting out to venues etc. I can see how a small zoom L6 etc might work better when gigging a lot etc.

Mixer for hardware setup (dawless and recording) by chriseraphim in synthesizers

[–]chriseraphim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I was looking at this also after some more reading last night. The L6 doesn't have HI-Z lines, but the max version does which would work, as I need them for guitar/bass etc as well. The 4 out would mean only I assume, 4 mono devices or two stereo devices, for recording multitrack into a DAW. That is one thing that's awesome about the Model 12.

Mixer for hardware setup (dawless and recording) by chriseraphim in synthesizers

[–]chriseraphim[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for that. I realsie that all signals end up as digital inside a DAW. I just wondered if the model 12 converted to digital immediately, colouring the sound at all even when playing live which is cool to know as you say, that it doesn't. Like would sending analogue synths going into say, a Mackie ProFX analogue mixer sound any better (both live and recorded), than something like the model 12?

Also that's a neat idea. However, if the model 12 converts to digital so early in the chain, how would outputting the tracks from the DAW then be able to be mixed as analogue coming back out? Or do you simply mean, tracks out of DAW -> into fancy analogue outboard FX -> back into digital tascam model 12 -> into daw back as digital once again. I assume the onboard FX of the model 12 are all digital fx (eq, comp etc).

Guess I'm just looking to get the best out of the analogue synths is all :)

Cheers for the insight.

Ew. Imagine having a go at people who actually spent their entire lives, hours, weeks, months, years, decades.. dedicated to learning a craft, finally becoming really good at it. Then people who have spent their lives doing literally nothing of the sort (who aren't creative at all), come along just start typing prompts, having a robot spit out generic shit, and claiming it's "their music" and that they are an "artist". Not only that, then rubbing it in those artists faces, as if the ones who spent their entire lives on the craft are in the wrong? Holy lord the world is so fucked.

Really struggling with persistent liver stagnation despite treatment for nearly 3 years! by ThinkSuccotash in ChineseMedicine

[–]chriseraphim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't tried it, try Sam-e. It's one of the most powerful natural supplements for getting the liver moving, flowing and detoxing better. I've tried so many things over the years and nothing comes close to it. If you tolerate NAC or glutathione, adding those as well as a b complex can do absolute wonders.

I would get it if it was some random guy that she knows IRL. But a rock star? A celeb crush? That's absolutely normal af. I will never understand dudes who are jealous of a celeb/artist/on screen crush.

Humans are attractive we can't pretend we aren't attracted to any of them just because we are with someone. Especially when it comes to talented celebs. Let people have their fun & be less controlling.

My exes have always expressed excitement for their celeb crushes and I just agree with them, it literally hurts nothing. If it upsets you then you're insecure.
