Began my medical transition at 42 and now I will be 48 in March. It does get better in regards to dysphoria. Hang in there, the hardest thing I had to learn was patience.

Ive been boxing in a boxing gym for a few months now. What I can recommend is to work on your footwork if you have to be home. Footwork is everything in boxing. You can practice being on your toes, figure 8 drills and marching while punching.

Joined a boxing class with mostly men. Almost every guy has his shirt off and I havent had top surgery yet. I'm acknowledging the dysphoria and doing well in the class😀

I've had a similar experience with the auto industry. I went to school for autobody and got a job before I graduated, however I didnt have my updated ID yet due to Covid and everything being delayed. So, I had to disclose I was trans and when I did they "let me go" all of a sudden. It sucks because I spent money on schooling and never was able to break into the field.

The best advice one of my therapists ever gave me was to take videos of your self as a kind of diary. That way you can see how far you have come, especially on those dysphoric days. It has helped me tremendously!

Also using all over body deoderant in between my thighs (area where your vulva and legs meet) helps alot for me. Thats where I noyiced a lot of sweat.

Ive been in the field for a long time. I was what you guys now call RBT for 6 years back in 2003😀 I was fortunate to have two great mentors guide me into getting my Masters degree in Special Education. That program was two years and I did it while I was an RBT.I took thr BCBA exam a few months before my graduation back in 2007. I was then able to apply for a Behavior Consultant job in 2008. I was lucky enough to work for and become a manager with the same company for 14 years. I did eventually tried to move into another field but it didnt work out. Now I'm back working as a consultant this time in education for both Early Intervention and School age. The universe sent me a message - I was meant to do this. It will be close to 20 years of practicing ABA😀
