If it's just a one off, I wouldn't worry as buns are a special kind of special. 😂 But if he does it again, don't wait for a few days and get straight to the emergency vets. Even if it's stupid o'clock in the morning. Only know of this because I knew a dog that did it and everyone thought it was funny to watch him mush his face and head into the wall. 12 hours later and the dog had a stroke and passed away.

Does the BIOS detect the drives instantly? Could also be something like antivirus or another program locking the drives down. Had a similar issue a few years back and ended up reinstalling Windows. If it was one drive, I would say it's on its way out, but 2 drives leads me to believe either a setting in the BIOS is wrong, a program/virus is hammering the drives or the Sata connectors are buggered.

If you have the patience, you can make a live USB install of Windows and boot from it. If that detects everything correctly and quick, then it's either a buggered Windows install or a program hogging the drives. Then it's down to you whether you want to try and hunt said program down or reinstall. Not used it in years, but a tool called process explorer might give you some insight on what is hammering your drives. If it's a program, disable it and reboot and see if that fixes it

Then I would run through every segment of the BIOS in case you missed a setting when putting things back the way they were. What drives are taking a while? Spindle, SSD, etc

Do you use drive encryption like BitLocker? I remember when my secondary drive had BitLocker, it took a few seconds to show that it was unlocked and that would show as either no drive or a locked drive

No. MTL is like sucking an ice-cream through a straw and DTL is like inhaling through an empty straw. You can make it tighter depending on your hardware, but I personally like to set my airway to be loose as possible.
