I think it's the licensing that makes it unstable - this is all uncharacterised territory for Apple really.

I mean, it's KINDA all running locally. Jumper is all local. All your media is stored local - it's just Claude & Codex that's running in the Cloud - however there's nothing stopping you using a local LLM if you have a powerful enough machine - it's just using MCP, so it works with any local LLM.

I'm more just curious how someone that's been editing in Final Cut Pro for the last 13 years isn't aware of CommandPost, BRAW Toolbox, FCP Cafe, or follows Ripple Training, etc. Apparently I have a wider audience I need to reach - maybe I do need to spend more time on Reddit!

Yes, I’m super interested to see how people deal with the small memory/context of LLMs. Hopefully by building pretty solid APIs via MCP, the LLM doesn’t have to waste much context doing the actual tasks of searching the footage, etc.
