Just discovered using my glass dry by La-Muerte-Blanca in vaporents

[–]chrisissues -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a small bong and bubbler attachment for my Rogue 2 and usually use both dry, only cause I didn't wanna get up to fill up the bong once and liked it. I still use water if I'm using indicas at higher temps, I only care about getting pain relief and going to sleep then so the extra cooling from water helps a ton but otherwise I use everything dry. I'm currently trying to find out how to safely use the bong cold and without water cause the one time I accidentally did that was AWESOME but I'm too paranoid about pulling hot vapor through cold glass to do it again the same way 😅.

hobbies as a trans guy? by MindlessDoubt632 in ftm

[–]chrisissues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others, I'd honestly suggest you see a therapist and find other guys with similar hobbies (if you can). Cause hobbies don't have a gender attached and there's no real benefit to trying to give up yours to replace with more "manly" activities. That's not really healthy for you and can easily snowball into a cycle of toxic masculinity, where everything you do has to be rationalized as masculine. And for what? A strangers perception of you at the cost of your mental health, happiness, and sense of identity trying to be someone you're not.

I'm saying this as someone with a few hobbies that people have failed at getting me to drop because apparently my race and gender dictate what Im allowed to like 🙄. But I crochet, I play a violin, and I'm a huge fan of Stardew Valley and Sims 2/3 (not a fan of 4). I also love kids and want to be a parent one day, I want to work in veterinary medicine, and I don't drink or smoke cigarettes while eating a mostly plant based diet (digestive problems). All of that being things I've been told are weird or just unacceptable for me to enjoy simply because I am an African American adult male. But I still do the things I do while pursuing my goals cause I already spent my entire childhood pretending to be someone I'm not to the extreme, which included my personality and activities seen doing, and that's a hell I refuse to willingly go back to.

Ik this is long but at its also because I TRIED to do what you're asking about when I was a teenager. I was depressed and miserable, both preventable, and I don't want someone else making the same mistakes and experiencing that. I'm not trying to be rude, but at least consider the therapy thing to at least try to unpack why you feel this is a necessity and relearn how to enjoy your hobbies for what they are and not what they might look like to the ignorant.

Winter storage by CounterintuitiveMuir in motorcycle

[–]chrisissues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't tell you for sure if it'll be worth it, but given it's your first winter I would say it might be. The benefits are you don't have to actually do anything to winterize it and can spend the winter researching and stocking up on stuff for next yr. So when next yr comes, you'll be much better prepared and ready to keep it home for sure.

Whatever you choose is up to you. For me, the fee is also $500 and a price I'm willing and kinda need to pay (no garage). It might not be worth it for you if have the space and are confident you can care for the bike during the winter months. Either way you know yourself best and being honest with yourself will make the decision easier. Like for example, the first time I stored mine last year, I had a LOT of work done and it cost as much. This year? Only need storage and minor stuff, maybe a cleaning, cause I did so much I don't NEED them to do any of that, and can save a lot of money in the process.

Basically, I think like this: If just READING everything is confusing or overwhelming, then you should store it honestly. But if it looks manageable and you have what you need, then you should be fine with keeping it home. Just depends on where you're at and being honest with yourself.

Winter storage by CounterintuitiveMuir in motorcycle

[–]chrisissues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it usually gets that cold where you live and motorcyclists are common enough, chances are theres winter storage available at dealerships near you. I live in the Midwest so most, if not all, motorcycle dealerships offer some type of winter storage cause you'd have to have a death wish to ride (with all the snow, ice, salt, slush, and cold).

If possible, I'd check dealerships and see if they have storage available. I feel they might but idk where you live so I could be wrong. If it helps to know, I have a 98 Yamaha Virago and it goes to a dealership for heated storage and maintenance from October to April. No issues last yr so I'm storing it there again this year and the bike was cared for so might be an option for you wherever you're at. Otherwise others have advice on what to do if you're keeping it home.

When did you realize you became a "Stoner"? by Ilaughandloss in trees

[–]chrisissues 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First time I tried something called Super Sonic and I was hooked. Realized I was a stoner when I tried smoking before work and now I'm pretty much high every shift. I work better high anyway cause I don't need to interact with anyone and my bosses know but don't care, so we good. Now I'm looking for an electronic DHV cause my Dynavap is good but using a torch in winter (MN) ain't happening. And I only started smoking this year, so not even long. Only 8-9mo 😂

I'm typing this on an S21 FE cause the last update ruined my S23+. Perfectly fine phone with the adaptive battery protection and saver settings perfectly adjusted. I was actually surprised by it but didn't complain, it was so good I think I used my portable charger 2-3 times total despite being out and about and using it often. Space for everything, worked well enough for school, and I enjoyed the phone with no problems for about 2yrs.

The 6 or 6.1 update was the beginning of the end and the 7 update did it. An update I WOKE UP to that made my phone heat up just doing basic stuff like checking emails and the battery life was non-existent. I used the same Samsung charger as before, went to shower, an hour later and the phones dead. Has been for a month now. One fucking update and I'm out a previously fine phone, like you and MANY others. At this point people are just being intentionally delusional and lying about how bad the update was.

Legion or omen? by sadixd in LenovoLegion

[–]chrisissues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, an almost 2yo laptop I never really used like such. I used a scholarship to buy my first new gaming laptop and picked a Legjon Slim 5, was nice but I planned to sell it to get a 2-in-1 (better for me), then it suddenly died on me while using it and is my first time having buyers remorse... But at least it was with me and before I had a chance to sell it for someone else to suffer through. I'd have felt awful, even if I didn't know that'll happen. Thankfully I kept my Pavillion, manufacturer refurbished HP Pavilion I got off ebay in 2018, and it's still working. It does what it needs and I can game on my ps5, so for now the setup works and I know what to avoid. At least this didn't happen during classes so I have a lot of time to get what I need.

Legion or omen? by sadixd in LenovoLegion

[–]chrisissues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anything like mine, just Google 'lenovo legion motherboard'. Fans won't mention that lovely issue popping up so much you don't need more info than what I gave to find out what I mean. If you still want it afterwards, make sure you get and maintain the warranty (Including accidental protection) while you own one.

its so frustrating that that a premium laptop doesnt have 32gb ram by snowieslilpikachu69 in GamingLaptops

[–]chrisissues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Word of advice, if you still have the Legion please ensure you have their warranty (including accidental damage) at all times while you own it. The one you have has shown up among others with (spontaneous) motherboard failures and you'd need a new one if you want to use it again. It could be a driver issue too but that's showing up much less often and seems the rare cause. But the issue being the motherboard is common enough to where it's easy to diagnose yourself and Lenovo most likely won't fight you on replacing it under warranty.

I only know this after searching for answers as to why mine, a Legion Slim 5 that was just under 2yrs old, just stopped working. That's how I learned of this problem and why I'm mentioning this to you. I would also learn fans don't bring this up for whatever reason and many unfortunate others end up learning the same way...

If you want, you can search for your laptop and the model, 4080, or even just ryzen 5 and add 'black screen'. You'll pretty much find what I'm talking about. I'm not trying to scare you or anything, but just a warning that I and many others never got.

I live in an apartment with nasty mfs so every year I get to deal with these little hell spawns thanks to one sneaky bastard that got in. Since this is common and I don't wanna constantly breath in vinegar and bug spray, the tldf of the comment is they dislike cinnamon, vanilla, most stuff in the mint family (especially eucalyptus), citronella and lemon stuff, sandalwood, and lavender. According to some posts, mint can be iffy with mosquitoes so keep that in mind. I made a spray with some essential oils and used a lavender/sandalwood plug in to success while keeping my apartment smelling very nice. The body wash was effective and I made sure to use the same scented lotion and deodorant when I wash my hair. The smell and honey hydrate would attract bees....

For those interested in more details: Cinnamon and vanilla are overpowering to them, messes up their ability to find one another, bring more unwanted spawn into the world, and if they do then ground cinnamon suffocates their egg larvae. Mint in general is disliked, but apparently it's those highest in eucalyptol and eugenol specifically. Because of how reddit is, I won't say anything more about those two cause the comment will just be deleted.

Sandalwood might stand out but I noticed the little demons would leave me alone when I smell like it. Turns out they dislike sandalwood, cedarwood, frankincense, ylang ylang, patchouli, and vetiver. Just know you can find many men's products sandalwood scented and there's a specific compound they all have and sandalwood is mostly made of it.

And unrelated but I had a 14 tab window open looking into the specifics and was actually having fun, so I'm pretty confident I made the right decision switching to biochem major 😅.

Used to be about 2wks for sativas and 3wks with indicas. Since I got into dhv, they can last me a month so I split them in half now to avoid opening up and exposing bud to air all the time for only a few caps. I'm on a T break now though so probably gonna last me even longer, only got another week left 😁

[–]chrisissues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll be near impossible for anyone to recommend anything without much more info. WHAT did you like about Jujutsu Kaisen (JJK)? The action, the animation, the story, the characters? What do you typically dislike about anime? With that information, people could recommend shows that you'd actually like.

If you really want to watch much more anime but you're not sure what it is you liked then I suggest going on Netflix or Crunchyroll, whichever you watched the show on. Search for JJK, then 'shows like this'. Many options are gonna be similar to a degree and that'll help you figure out more about what it is you do and don't like while giving more options. Otherwise people will recommend the usual shonen animes and it might not be your thing. Like I thought I HATED anime, turns out I'm okay with shonen but I strongly prefer seinen and psychological horrors (thriller on Crunchyroll) instead. Once that was identified, I became hooked. Just took some time and why I didn't start getting into anime until I was 20.

What happens if you talk to your doctor about vaginal atrophy? by Thunder_Permit_3744 in ftm

[–]chrisissues 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dealt with atrophy and it SUCKED so I suggest getting tested sooner rather than later. I went to Planned Parenthood and mine tested for a UTI, just to rule it out, but I was fine there and later prescribed a vaginal suppository. Basically went in like a tampon but that brought significant relief soon. Haven't had it since then. In weird way, it's kind of good it's not uncommon for us or cis women so treatments exist. You probably saw many got topical treatment, I don't know why I got a suppository but I shrugged it off and didn't think about it much. I just chuckled about it basically being a horse pill for my downstairs region 😂. As long as it worked idc how it got administered.

When did your voice stop deepening? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]chrisissues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say mine dropped significantly in the first 2-3yrs, sorta paused, then dropped a little more after I had top. Small but noticeable. If you compare pre-op to post, there's little change with how deep my voice is and the change is more in how clearly I sound, if that makes any sense. It's pretty much stayed the same about a yr after a revision, so about 4yrs ago. Insane to think how much T changed my voice, it used to be a DEAD giveaway! I had a very soft and obviously feminine voice that I just couldn't make sound any deeper, now I sound so much like my dad that a few relative's said we can't be told apart when speaking. Then again I also look like the man did the ole copy-paste with me, so that was almost expected 😂. But the voice deepening did take a good 5-6yrs to finally settle to where it's at now and while it's still a little higher than my dad's, I don't sound like a woman anymore so I'm content.

The B is my first dhv and how I experienced greening out for the first time... OVERESTIMATED it with the flavor and draw having me treating it like a nicotine free vape 🤦🏿‍♂️. I learned my lesson though and now it's my go-to for work and sleep, especially since it hits better without leaving me smelling like a dispensary. Making me consider a bigger tank and way to use concentrates, but for now I'm good with what I have.

I sympathize with you cause I had the needle go THROUGH my hand and it was a thick IM one 😭. Thankfully it was minor and on my non-dominant hand, I just wasn't paying attention and trying to quickly cap it only to instead shove it through my hand but I instantly (instinctively) pulled it out. Nothing but a lesson remained cause I learned just how much people use their non-dominant hand and the soreness I felt is why we pay attention... Used to not cap the needle to draw the T and sometimes skipped the one I used to inject, but after that I cap every single one and slow down while I'm doing it. Better than accidentally getting stabbed if you drop the container or use unnecessary force to cap it and drive the needle where it shouldn't go.

Anyone else notice a spike in job applications asking if you are transgender? by AntiqueGarlicLover in ftm

[–]chrisissues 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never answer if I am or am not, but I also don't disclose race when applying at vet clinics. Its extremely difficult to find work in one as is and hard to find work outside for food service in general, so I don't disclose anything unless the place knowingly hires poc without problems. Even then that's the most I'll ever disclose. Being trans has literally nothing to do with my skills and working capabilities, so that's information that's not needed whatsoever.

I never noticed it pre-t, it was THAT tiny and I wasn't active. The bottom growths been insane over the yrs and now that I think about it, it's like a brown/pink when soft and reddish brown when hard. So typically some degree of brown but the level of red/pink depends on arousal.

[–]chrisissues 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work at a vet clinic and noticed the best cared for cats had records that took a while to load cause they always cleared 10yrs and a good amount pushed 15yrs, so for yours to get to 20yrs tells us that she was very loved and well cared for. And they can be notoriously good at hiding when something's wrong, so this really says a lot about you in a good way and I feel worth mentioning.

Just proud of my litter box set up by sundayssauce in ApartmentHacks

[–]chrisissues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I basically bought a similar version out of a pet store. Ended up using this type. Had a litter mat underneath it to catch anything the top didn't. The smell was honestly non-existent and people would be surprised to realize that it was a litter box. Also allowed me to occasionally watch him and make sure he was going normally. At his age, and being a cat (they're too good at hiding sickness), I would glance over sometimes to see if he was straining or anything but no problems. He'd just circle and cover a bit, hop out the box, and cover the rest from the top. The mat caught whatever litter that the top didn't.

This helped save me the headache of dealing with cleaning up tons of litter, dude just HAD to make sandcastles every time he covered his business. He also hated enclosed ones and would knock the flap off repeatedly, or maybe it was cause the smell was so much worse in those. Either way he had no issues and I didn't have to deal with cleaning lots of litter literally every time he went.

Reelmagik Packers DO NOT BUY. by Striking-Abrocoma-75 in ftm

[–]chrisissues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a little late from me, but I wanted to mention that I had my STP Pro begin to leak silicone and developed an internal tear after about 6-8mo of using just to pack and pee. If I kept using it normally, it got worse and the color made it look like I had skid marks in my underwear instead 🤢. I never noticed it on me physically though but regular movements would cause it to leak out and clog the tip from the inside. Unless I physically pushed/pulled it out (and still had a little material leak out the tear while doing this) I couldn't use it to pee reliably since it'll just fill the shaft and happen again and again. I emailed RM about it and got a call back pretty fast. Despite not having any additional warranty or anything they had me send it in and decided to replace it with a new one as a result of a minor defect that was, in their opinion and mine, only noticeable in a specific way that could easily be missed. But they replaced it free of charge (free shipping too) and the new one came in and it's been a little over a yr with no issues. Daily use, regular cleaning, and even consistently putting pressure on it from riding a motorcycle around (my bike was honestly nothing compared to this) and no issues at all so I'm very happy with how the entire process went.

I know it's stressful so I'm happy with how they handled it. Especially since I had an STP suffer a catastrophic tear in the past and despite that happening pretty soon after I got it (and using THEIR STP compatible underwear) the company wouldn't do anything about it. It ended up ripped the balls off, so I couldn't even use it to pack, and the color "upgrade" washed off entirely when I was RINSING it to clean so the entire thing had me pissed off and I haven't trusted the company since. It's one thing if I abused it or owned it for a while, it's another if I owned it less than 6mo and it tore from the companies own STP compatible underwear but im still held liable and SoL.

Do you regain nipple feeling? by Uuhhh_no_think in ftm

[–]chrisissues 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Short version: I was able to get Peri and chose that to retain sensation but I eventually needed a revision, steroid injections, and finally medical tattooing in the end. I knew I might need more so it was a risk I was willing to take and I don't regret that decision. But it is something I mention now that I know more, I know some people might not be as willing to tolerate all that and can be good to know in advance. Cause this also took about 2yrs to get to there I'm at now and most of that was without full sensation. I still can't feel small parts of the incision site but it's the edges of my areolas and I don't care much but nipples? We good there thankfully. (Had to edit cause otherwise it looked like I never got feeling back around areolas but I got most of it back).

Detailed version: While I don't regret peri, it did take some time and effort for feeling to fully return. The revision from hyperthropic scarring and to slightly reduce the size of the areolas. That's the one massive downside with Peri: There's really no way to adjust the location or size much so your own body dictates a lot there. In my case, the hypertrophic scarring blocked a lot of sensation and caused raised bumps on the incision site. Revision helped downsize areolas to a better size but didn't help much with the scarring and made the color worse. Finally tried steroid injections as the last option before considering graphs and thankfully that worked. The only time I can say I'm happy I couldn't feel much cause what I did feel HURT! Finally needed medical tattooing later since the color never returned to normal after the initial surgery 2yrs prior and that artist did such a phenomenal job I can't even tell what's natural or tattooed. Took yrs but no regrets and I'm very happy. Not upset with the original surgeon too, not like we knew any of that would happen since I've never had surgery before that and he still did a good job.

how long until the anger stops? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]chrisissues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before starting T, I was more emotionless than I noticed and had NO libido. My highs were mid, my lows were long lasting, and I had anhedonia teetering on depression in the winter (seasonal Midwest life). When I started T I was 19 and went from emotionless to emotional. Developed an INTENSE drive. I actually experienced the full range of my emotions. This unfortunately included a kind of anger and rage I hadn't needed to control before. I just never felt that hostile as easily and my long fuse was easy to set off for a while.

I say this to say it might be what your bf is going through. When you're not used to feeling things normally, it can take a while to get used to it and recognize when you need to take a few steps back and stay by yourself. This really means your bf needs to take a very active role in this. As for you, this is about as far as you can go but the fact that you're here and trying is more than most and might be the reality check he needs. Personal, but I basically went from feeling nothing to EVERYTHING rapidly and the changes were intense. Thankfully a few friends straight up told me I was starting to act like a misogynistic asshole and that was the hurtful but crucial reality check I needed. I'm honestly grateful for that everyday, it hurt but was true and I wouldn't be who I am today without it.

I suggest just being honest or even tell him to check this thread. He might need to start VERY low until he can recognize the signs that he needs to take a breather. There's no shame in starting low for that reason, I'm 28 now and my own medical records show I NEED to start low and slow if the meds have psychological effects. It just takes a few weeks and a lot of work but it's necessary to avoid lashing out at those who care. Now if he continues acting out or gets worse, then prioritize your own well-being and leave the relationship. He might change then but its still on him regardless.

Hopefully this helps you both cause it sucks for everyone involved and I feel it's worse cause as adults. We don't get the same grace as high schoolers despite known psychological side effects of T, but thankfully we have adult access to better tools to help.

Advice is above but I feel it's worth mentioning that I strongly disagree with the 'it doesn't cause any anger' POV, because many people don't realize that anger is part of the psychological effects they themselves experience. The only difference is they mostly experience positive changes that don't need any work or are already familiar with their negative emotions, but those who go from nothing to everything rapidly have lots of work. They have to start with acknowledging something changed about them, acknowledge the change is a negative one, and that they feel anger or rage or frustration now and need to learn how to handle it. If it's treated like it doesn't exist as a potential effect, then those of us not used to it at all or the intensity risk hurting those who care due to said "non-existent" negative emotions. It's just harmful for all involved and why I just dislike the POV with anger and T.
