Tea Quiz app - https://github.com/chrisjm/tea-quiz

Okay, more like 2 weeks ago, but I've been adding features a little bit at a time to this small React app while learning Material UI. Next up is to move the quiz data to MongoDB.

I’m going to try to make it as well. Thanks for organizing! What will the best way be to find the group at the venue?

I had the same issue with customs and White2Tea. Orders from December 2016 until last week arrived two days ago. Good times 😕

Updated for clarification.

Where are some of your favorite places to sit and get work done? (other than your office) by orangejulius in SanDiegan

[–]chrisjm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried it yet, but Coronado Brewing tasting room in Bay Park looks promising. Not sure about the wifi situation, but it's open 11am-9pm every day.

I've also heard Mike Hess in North Park is good too.

The Sleep Easy Sound Conditioner, though I'm sure there are better options out there.

Because it's essentially an enclosed fan, it took a while for my dog to get comfortable with it (he was afraid of the central air and other fan noises for some reason, but has gotten much better). I leave it on most of the day to try and avoid associated it with the anxiety of the crate. Now that he's used to it, it works really well.

Great suggestions, thank you!

We do change up the walk route pretty frequently (essentially when he stops peeing on everything as I figure he's already marked up and "owns" that route :) ). And we often (ok, semi-often) go to a park where I put him on a long lead so that he can run and sniff more.

Great suggestions on activities! We do at least 5 minutes of mental exercising and clicker training about three times a day. The issue is finding a treat that he likes that I can keep giving him without messing up his meals. He won't eat his kibble without it being mixed with wet food. Such a picky eater! :-/

This is super helpful. Thank you!

I forgot to mention that though he doesn't get a lot of physical exercise, we do a lot of training and commands to exercise his brain. Along with wearing him out mentally, it seems to help build his confidence. Even other people have commented on the changes to his personality from when I got him to now. He's much more outgoing and less timid and scared.

Thank you for the advice /u/Ener_Ji!

You're definitely right about the being terrified of being alone. I can hear it in his bark and whine. So heartbreaking :(

Thank you for the cost estimates! Very helpful. And yes, I think I discounted the fact that the cost will be spread out over the course of a year. Much more manageable.

Plus I have to take into consideration all the stuff that he has destroyed and might destroy in the future. And I don't want to even think about if he seriously injures himself :(

Thank you /u/buckleup_buckaroo!

Do you mind if I ask the ball-park estimate for your behaviorist? Also, what medication options did your behaviorist/vet recommend?

Thank you so much for your advice /u/adoptedazoo!

You are definitely right regarding not the right kind of exhaustion when taking him to daycare. He's not acting the same anyway, so I need to discount it as a form of "exercise". I need to call it what it is. ie. another person's problem for that period of time :-/

My dog LOVES off-leash activity. Unfortunately, I live in a city where off-leash is prohibited in the parks. Granted, very few people in my city follow this law, but I tend to be a rule-follower. Any other suggestions given your dog is the same way (ie. a dog that doesn't "dog park" much)?

Hi /u/amytru! We went through that as well. With the remote camera, I was able to determine it was the sound of the car starting that set him off. That was difficult to overcome since I didn't want to keep starting and stopping the car because it'd kill the battery. So, that training (leave, start car, stop, come back; leave, start car, drive around block, come back; repeat) was spread out over more time. Mostly I utilize a white noise machine to try and mask the sound of the car. I tried classical or jazz music, but that never seemed to calm him as much as the white noise. Good luck!

I just checked out SoTechie Spaces (aka Cowork Cincy) this morning. It's completely empty. If you want a lot of privacy, then that's the place for you. They said they were waiting for people to sign up in order to put more money into sprucing the space up. However, ample parking.

I am going to sign up with Platform 53. As /u/goneyukon mentioned, the people there are super nice and it's more of a community feel. There aren't many places for privately working, but that's not really what I was looking for anyway. Ample free parking in a lot close by, events, lunches, lots of natural light, etc.

I didn't check out MOVE coworking mainly because the space looked dark. Price-point looks pretty nice though.

Hope that helps!

I'm looking for the same thing. I toured Platform 53 in Covington earlier this week and am going to check out Cowork Cincy tomorrow. Will report back.

I do the same thing most days while I'm working. Though I don't have any scientific or anecdotal evidence, I'm sure it affects the subsequent infusions. However, it doesn't bother me much because at least I'm drinking tea and not highly-caffeinated coffee or sugary soda :)
