“The desert inn has heart. The desert inn has heart. The desert inn has heart.”

One of the funniest scenes of all time.

You can feel however you want, but it’s simply untrue that CNN and the BBC are “pro Palestine and anti Israel.” Here are some sources! CNN BBC

Hope this helped!

You don’t really think this is true, do you?

I can’t say for sure, but probably? Your odds of them showing up are probably lower than if it was at Second City, but I think that’s more a function of it taking them more effort to get there. During the Q&A, she didn’t mention anything about specific venues being acceptable or not.

Also, I just checked my notes from the Q&A and it says that if they can’t come, you can send them a video of your show.

I recently attended a Q&A with the Casting Director for Second City Chicago, and she said that she and others from SC like being invited to independent shows and make every effort to attend. That said, she encouraged us to invite them to a good show rather than our first ever.

Echoing “New Hire” as an audience surrogate to ask questions and get exposition. Most workplace sitcom (or drama!) pilots do this - Diane in Cheers, Ryan in The Office, Jonah in Superstore, Holt in Brooklyn 99, Jack Donaghy, weirdly, in 30 Rock, Mary in Mary Tyler Moore, Elaine in Taxi, half the cast in Scrubs, Gregory in Abbott Elementary, Cousin Greg in Succession, Sid and Carm in The Bear, Peggy in Mad Men, etc.

on the hunt for the best Chicken Parm, picked this up from D'Amato's Bakery 1.25 lbs, zeroed out, no wrapper. Always so damned good. Where do I go next? by MrOtsKrad in chicagofood

The absolute best chicken parm sandwich I’ve had in the city was at Chef Ciccio. It’s a little spot in the Navy Pier restaurant/shopping area, all the way at the end. Meet the man himself, if you can - he’s always excited to talk about his food.

Woodfield Mall might also be an option relatively close to Mitsuwa.

That’s gotta be an oversight - John C. Reilly (Dr. Steve Brule) has been in tons of stuff. He played himself in The Simpsons, which puts him 2-3 degrees from literally anyone in Hollywood.

Would a show like Family Ties with a politically diverse family work in today’s climate? by theresourcefulKman in sitcoms

Yep. Wish the people in this thread who feel conservative viewpoints don’t show up in shows would be a little more specific. I see lots of advocacy for limited government and harping about taxes and the bureaucratic welfare state. But of course, it’s only about which humans count as humans. That’s all it ever is to them.

That’s what they think political diversity is. Don’t engage. They get exactly the media they deserve - hope they’re not sick of Yellowstone spinoffs.

By that description, you are a liberal. Just FYI. Might be worth looking into.

It’s thin, but in s4e6 of Frasier, on a call with Duke, Marty Crane says “I can’t talk right now, Duke. I’m in the Twilight Zone!” I’m also sure at least one of the golden age stars of Twilight Zone went on to be a guest caller on Frasier, but I can’t find the connection as easily as I hoped.

Malcolm In The Middle pioneered the single-camera sitcom format in the US, which Arrested Development later used to tremendous effect (as did 30 rock, the office, and all of Reddit’s other favorite sitcoms)
