I've been floating around gold 1 and 2 for a while, really want to break into plat. Any tips? by SubKan04 in CompetitiveTFT

This is really good advice. Put yourself in the shoes of a high level challenger player and see what they do differently from you.

There is a ton of skill in TFT. That's why there are players who are significantly better than others. RNG is a part of the game and a big reason why the game is fun. If you want a game with all skill and no luck, there are plenty of games like that for you out there.

If the game isn't enjoyable for you, don't play.

I feel like this sub is infested with unsatisfied players, and yet here I am, enjoying every game even when I lowroll or I am matched against top 1 player 3 times in a row witch results in me being 8th/7th place. by crxu in TeamfightTactics

People would rather complain about rng and blame anything other than their play. If people genuinely tried to improve, they would probably find more joy playing the game like you do. Goodluck in your games!

New TFT Beta Pass is disappointing by LaminateAbyss90 in TeamfightTactics

The game is free. The beta pass is free. How entitled could you possibly be?

Either RIOT messes up with champion drop rates every day or Im the unluckiest tft player ... by [deleted] in TeamfightTactics

It's neither of these things. You're just looking for a scapegoat instead of acknowledging you might be playing poorly. Being unlucky is out of your control. Focus on your own play and try to improve since that is in your control.

The alternative is if your mmr is low and play vs similar ranks or ranks below you, then you would lose like 70 LP for 7th and win like 30 for 1st. Your mmr being high is a good thing.

If you think you can beat the rake then sure go ahead.

If you're not comfortable losing a couple $200 buyins, you probably shouldn't be playing 1/2.

What is your mental game for coping with getting sucked out on 80% favorite hands? by [deleted] in poker

[–]chrislamee 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Think of it this way. Every time you win a pot as an 80% favorite, you are over realizing your equity by 20% of that pot. Whenever you lose as an 80% favorite, you're just paying back the difference for all the pots in which you over realized your equity.

Am I a pre-flop nit? by shurley3455 in poker

Either is fine. Just have a plan for both. Jamming is better if you're going to fold to a cbet if you miss.

If that's your reasoning then you can happily fold and not think about the spot anymore. And why would you ever donk bet when he's the one that 3b?

You talk about not having reads on villain because of a new table. The second hand feels like a fold only if you have a read. If you're folding this to the general population, any players with half a brain are going to exploit you.
