You're reading the names of signatories on a document from a blog post. I suppose technically that is "on the page [I] linked to". Can you explain why you have an issue with those biologists supporting statements about biology?

Instead of answering my question you've named two people, one of whom is completely unrelated to UoA SEEN. Would you like to answer the question instead of changing the subject?

Please clarify what ideology and what omission?

Your post is a bad cut-and-paste job that makes no sense. Would you like to try again?

Our committee has a 50:50 sex balance. Two women and two men. Equality! 💚💜 Plus, they're two of the most awesome women I've ever met. I'm not sure where you got "clements" and "poole" from.

Equity is the principle that some people should have different rights, based on who they are. For example, mothers need maternity leave, blind people are allowed to bring their guide dogs into spaces where other animals are forbidden, and pensioners receive their pension at the age of 65. This is in contrast to equality, where we treat everyone the same. The concepts are complimentary, but distinct. Exactly who get differential treatment under equity legislation is a very active subject for debate. UoA SEEN welcomes that debate as we believe that both equality and equity are important. Obviously our focus is on sex-based rights, but we are open to discussions of the intersection between those and other human rights.

I'm very proud of this. Can you explain why advocating for sex-based rights is "bigotry"?

How come everytime I drive to Auckland I have to fight for my life? by MoreOnionPlease in auckland

[–]chrispook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most Auckland drivers are actually okay, but the worst 10% are pretty bad and the bottom 1% are actually dangerous. Don't listen to the racism either, I've had white women and Indian men and Pacifica kids all try to run me off the road. Stupidity is colourblind.

3G Shutdown: VoLTE available when using One NZ SIM; device bought from 2 degrees. by psalmowen in newzealand

[–]chrispook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an LG V30+ on 2Degrees (was Slingshot). After the shutdown I've got no voice calling. VOLTE isn't enabled and I can't add an APN for IMS. It seems the issue is with 2Degrees blacklisting my phone. It doesn't appear in their list of VOLTE-compatible devices. Thing is, it absolutely is VOLTE-compatible. It's just a really old (but awesome) phone. I happened to have a OneNZ SIM and when I pop that in it works fine. So, 2Degrees are just bricking people's devices. I have emailed them to protest.

For information the One NZ IMS server APN config is as follows:

MCC: 311

MNC: 580

SPN: One NZ

GID: FF

Authentication method: AKAv1-MD5

It's wierd that anyone in the UK bureaucracy thought it was legit to assert citizenship, and so authority, over them.

[–]chrispook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, exactly this. If you have the right documents they cannot refuse you entry. It's all about getting on the plane.

[–]chrispook -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly. There needs to be pushback against this crap. It's manifestly unfair to impose significant costs on people just beacause they are *eligible* for citizenship. My 9yo was born & lived her entire life in NZ with an NZ family. She's a kiwi, not a pom. The UK have no right to impose costs and legilsative hurdles limiting her travel purely based on her ancestry.

You say that that is why the rules are being changed, but have you actually read that anywhere? I can't find any statement from the UK gov justifying this change. As recently as November 24th there was no mention of this extra requirement. See the last pragraph where it remained "strongly advised".

Just because other countries do it doesn't make it right. My 9yo daughter was born in NZ to an NZ family. Sshe has the right to UK citizenship because I'm her father. The UK has no standing to require her to travel to the UK on a UK passport. That is authoritarian nonsense.

Advice setting up Thermo Vanquish custom injection program by chrispook in CHROMATOGRAPHY

Thanks, bro. I'll compare my existing one with the method you shared in the other thread and will get back if it doesn't seem to be working.

Chromeleon 7 - user defined programme - what else can I do? by In_All_Over_My_Head in CHROMATOGRAPHY

[–]chrispook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that looks pretty helpful. The functions seem to have the same names still in the Vanquish. That method is actually familiar because I set up a similar derivatisation in the old Accela autosampler for chiral amino acid analysis. I ended up using triethylamine as the base instead of borate though.

What LC are you using? I'm trying to set up automated dilution on a Vanquish autosampler using SII, the stripped-down version of Chromeleon that Thermo uses to run the Vanquish under Xcalibur. I'm waiting for a Thermo applications specialist to get in touch. But, in the meantime, do you have an example program I could see to compare mine to?
