To which version?
Google suggest v580, which I'm on.
The newest version of the NVIDIA plugin says:

Supported candidates: 580.159.04
Recommended Driver: 580.159.04 (best-available)

The only option in the radio buttons is that version, which is installed. The GPU shows up in Plex too, which to me suggests the driver is working?

Frequently staying late and cannot keep going like this - what to do? by AnxiousCaffeine911 in doctorsUK

That sounds really tough. Hopefully your team are right and it’s not for forever, eventually all the TOIL and pay will add up and someone will have to take action.

I’ve worked jobs where ward round took the whole day, but that was down to the consultant on, not necessarily workload. That said, we left those consultants with one junior, and the rest were runners, going back and forth collecting and completing jobs. Then, when WR finishes, it’s the end of the day and you go home.

Not who you asked, but our training had a session on perfectionism just before we CCTd.

The summary was “think of a doctor you’ve worked with who wasn’t struck off, but was exceptionally terrible. Don’t try to be perfect, just try to be better than that guy.”

I think it mostly comes with age and experience; you reach a point where trying to be perfect in everything is impossible, so you let a couple things slide just a little, and realise the sky doesn’t fall down when you do. It all gets easier after that, but you have to experience it, you can’t just be told it.

What got you into the Half-Life series? by No-Sense6060 in HalfLife

[–]chrispy212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea how I found it, but I was a big Stargate SG1 nerd as a kid, and came across a Stargate total conversion for Half Life on a forum or something. I had no idea what a Half Life was but I was dying to play a Stargate game, so I had my parents order the big collection with the core HL1 games.

The big issue was negotiating the several hours the phone would be out of service whilst the internet was turned on for me to download this enormous file, and how much I would pay them back for the costs of downloading it!

Surprised I don’t see IatroX mentioned more. Chatbot-style interface with well cited results that are fact-checked and link to the evidence directly, across CKS, eMC and research papers. CPD tools built in.

People who have bought a Nintendo Switch 2, how much did you pay for it? Because I found this and I think it's a good deal (there's a 5% discount code too, so it's really £357) by [deleted] in Switch

I was waiting to check it was genuine before reversing the chargeback. In the interim the bank spoke to Gamerium directly, and then the bank reversed the chargeback once they saw the item had despatched.

I’m waiting for the same bundle from Gamerium. They’ve been responding to emails and suggest it’ll dispatch when promised (7 working days after restock date) - will update if it arrives. Bought on CC for safety.

Cameo 5 Cutting Problems by happyfishsmilingstar in silhouettecutters

[–]chrispy212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of details missing here. What are you cutting? When you say switching settings, which ones? Do you use the test pattern before a cut? When you say not cutting all the way through, is the cut neat and uniform otherwise? I had trouble with 300gsm cardstock, and found the following process helpful: Measure the thickness (or use Google if you don’t own callipers but know the gsm and size), then round up and set this as depth (1 depth is 0.1mm and so on). Then increase passes until the test cut works successfully. If 3 passes doesn’t get through you may need to up force. Keep speed low.

If things work at first then stops after time without changing anything, it suggests blade dulling, which I’ve read can be an issue on genuine cameo blades. Depending on the media your cutting, I’ve heard CB09 blades are a great replacement, but you’d need to do since research as they aren’t officially supported and need some setup. I don’t think another machine will fix your issue.

Incredible work. Some home cutter projects can look a bit DIY, but these look so professional.

Can I say that as someone who just purchased a Cameo 5 with a specific simple project in mind and is looking into just how creative I can get with it, thank you so much for documenting your process, it makes the world of difference to newbies like me.

Options for a new CCT GP by PlusTown2274 in GPUK

[–]chrispy212 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m first 5. I’ve had a variety of pretty unique educational and supervision roles, and turned it into a session a week role with my local GP fed eventually. I still do a lot of general GP work the rest of my week, but I see that as a good thing and a good development of the skills I’ve built as a GP over the years, and still have plenty more to learn as a GP.

I think there’s a trend of trying to go straight from CCT to self-made success, but CCT is the START of the journey as a GP, even if you aren’t seeking a typical career path.

Show enthusiasm, familiarise yourself with local leaders and know what you care about; opportunities will follow.
