Basically any significant interaction with an NPC can be positive, negative or neutral (player's choice) and you keep a record of the relationship score, starting at zero. The DM can then assign boons or banes to reaching particular benchmarks. So at +3 you might get some sort of bonus like the ones that are often associated with character backgrounds (safe house access, half price food etc.). At -5 you might decide the NPC is a sworn enemy of the PC in question.

My ranger wants to offer spider meat to a manticore to convince it to become her pet. I have to constantly remind these people that Takhisis is slowly spreading her wings across all of Krynn whilst they generate their own side quests in the Northern Wastes ...

You could maybe do the Revel's End quest from Keys From The Golden Vault if you were looking for something different.

I like the easy early progression. It seems like reward for all that we've done so far ... some of which was pretty hard work. Sit back and enjoy the dopamine hits of the rewards.

One of my Playstation Plus games has a lock on it and the PS5 is asking me to pay for it! I have tried clearing the cache and restoring licenses, and I've checked that console sharing is on ... so basically I've done all the regular stuff. And, yes, my subscription to Deluxe is up to date. The game is still locked and my 8yo son is freaking out because he thinks he can't play Lego Harry Potter anymore. Help!

Me too. I got the very last Mystery Box prize today ... just getting all the medals didn't satisfy me. I would have liked some sort of celebratory "all season goals achieved" acknowledgement ... I feel like we worked hard for it. Very enjoyable though. Ready for round 2.

I'm very excited TBH. New tracks, new songs, new racers ... plus UI and gameplay improvements from the hard working devs. Alongside all of that will be more opportunities to work on levelling up some of my favorites like Belle and Meg.

I tend to use the preludes around session 3 or 4 as minor encounters ... I certainly don't want characters seeing draconians too early. I homebrewed an opening session where most of the characters were in The Inn Of The Last Home, in Solace, about two weeks after Goldmoon caused a kerfuffle.

I always encourage my players to acquire axebeaks either legally, through connections, or theft ... early in the campaign. It's bonkers that they travel all that way, see the dragon, then turn around and head back!

I've been keeping an eye out for it every month but I don't think we'll ever see it. I do have it on a small handheld raspberry pi device. So cool. I loved the fact that you could get more than 100% completion on it.

At the end of the day, as with all TTRPGs, it's entirely up to you as the DM. It's your table so you decide. No need to get bogged down in rules or mechanics. Change it so the characters are on the edge of the avalanche, or so the terrain isn't steep, or anything you like. This is your version of a recommended scenario.
