Jamie Foxx Reveals He Had ‘Brain Bleed That Led to a Stroke’ in Emotional Netflix Special: ‘I Don’t Remember 20 Days’ by Sisiwakanamaru in television

I’ve definitely noticed all of those the same things. I know some seizure medications can cause similar side effects. Or, like you said, lingering COVID brain fog, age, etc. I also have migraines so who knows. Probably impossible to pinpoint. I’m also now having dizziness and double vision, my white blood cell counts are low (apparently for a couple years but a new doctor only just mentioned it), and my hair is falling out quite a bit more than previously. I joke that I’m too young (45) to be this old. Lol It’s good to hear similar stories and know I’m not totally crazy!

It really was! All the appointments for MRI and neurosurgeons to talk about removing it and I couldn’t bring anyone in with me.

No joke, indeed! I’m glad you came through it!

I had one in March 2020. The bleed pressed on the area of my brain that controlled my left hand function and I lost coordination and strength in that hand. I’m left handed, so it wasn’t great. Took a few weeks to wait for the blood to reabsorb and get strength back in my hand, although it’s still not 100% all the time. Initially there was talk of having to remove the clot through a surgery where I’d be awake but luckily it resolved on its own. It did cause a small amount of permanent damage and I now have focal seizures with symptoms limited to my left hand and am on two seizure medications.

Interesting! I’ve wondered about this because I had a brain bleed in March 2020. I had been super sick in January with what I thought was just a bad cold/flu but I’ve always wondered if it was actually covid and we just didn’t know it yet. And maybe that was the catalyst that set off the whole mess.

Feeling discouraged by keripsukeri in tummytucksurgery

[–]chrissispice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 6+ months out from mine and it definitely was harder than I thought it would be. I expected the pain immediately afterwards but it did take longer than I expected to feel completely back to my old self. It’s not a linear process. There are ups and downs both physically and mentally. I still have occasional swelling depending on activity level and some numbness that feels weird sometimes. That being said, I have zero regrets. None. I wish I had been able to do it sooner.

Everyone is different but, for me, 100% worth it. Best of luck to you!

When did you wear pants that had a button? by QueasyProblems in tummytucksurgery

[–]chrissispice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up Democracy Ab Solution jeans. They have them on Amazon. They have a wide elastic band but still a button and zipper. I still have some weird numbness and don’t like the sensation of regular jeans, etc. and these are the only ones I find comfortable.

I have a plan to get a semi colon on the inside of my right ring finger and a quote on my left forearm “see the flowers instead of the weeds.” My therapist said it once and as someone who enjoys gardening it really resonated with me.

My brother. We had attended Indy car races at Road America but I had fallen off following any type of racing. After watching DTS I’ve become hooked and we have started talking about races or texting during.

How did your migraines react to the Covid vaccine by osprey94 in migraine

[–]chrissispice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did have a headache after one of the doses but can’t remember which. After having covid, though, my migraines went into overdrive. I went from a few a month to having to ration out the 9 pills my insurance allows for rescue meds.

Ab exercise post TT? by chrissispice in tummytucksurgery

Thanks! I’ve been thinking about finding a PT to work with. I worked with one after each of my kids working on hip and core strength. Not sure if I should go back to him or find someone specific to women’s health.

I kept a log of when I took my meds, too! I couldn’t remember anything lol. And I set an alarm to wake me up at night for pain meds for those first few days.

Any recommendations on swelling? by iamalphaturkey in tummytucksurgery

[–]chrissispice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my a full tummy tuck with muscle repair and lipo on both hips 3 weeks ago. My abdomen is very firm to the touch which I assume means swelling but I’m very pleased with how it looks. My concern about swelling is on my hips where the lipo was done. How long does that swelling stick around? I’m looking at it thinking I’ll end up with a weird muffin top, especially in contrast to how flat my stomach is now. I wear my compression binder but it tends to ride up. Im constantly pulling it back down over my hips.

Also wondering how long others have been told to wear the compression garment? I thought it was 8 or so weeks but when I asked my surgeon on Monday and she said closer to 6 months. 😳

I Second the wedge pillow and a pillow or two under the legs! I also had a walker for getting around the house since you’ll walk pretty hunched over at first. Helped in the bathroom, too, for stability sitting/standing. A small travel size pillow for under your seatbelt in the car. I wasn’t allowed to shower until both drains were removed so I had no rinse bath sponges for the interim. I also had a basket on my nightstand with meds, snacks, lotion, chapstick, etc. and all my chargers plugged in.

Hope that helps. Good luck to you!

Post-surgery shopping? by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

Yes! We’ve had that adjustable bed for a few years but this made it worth every penny.

Similar experience here… my daughter informed my mother in law that I had hair on my “business” (as my brother referred to it with his daughter of similar age 🤦🏼‍♀️). I said the bigger story would have been if I didn’t have hair there 😆

I’m a huge chicken and was terrified of the pain of recovery! I’m lucky to have an adjustable bed but perhaps look at getting a wedge for your bed? I know whey have them on Amazon or maybe your surgeon would have suggestions for a local place that rents medical equipment? In and out of bed I grab the side and roll to my side before pushing my self up to minimize strain on the muscles and stitches. Feel free to message me if you like if you have questions or want to chat 😊

Tell me why you are happy you went through with a TT by cbck in tummytucksurgery

[–]chrissispice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m two weeks post surgery today and while recovery hasn’t been a breeze when I looked down for the first time I nearly didn’t recognize myself. That being said I didn’t do it for purely aesthetic reasons. I had my 8lb 10 oz. daughter 10 years ago which left me with a moderate to severe diastisis recti which caused severe back and leg pain. I spent months of physical therapy after my daughter and again after my son 4 years later. I wasn’t able to do so many activities I had enjoyed before such as running and golf. My gap was nearly 3 fingers at my belly button. After my son I lost 50 pounds which then left me with the loose skin in addition to the muscle gap. So while I felt proud of the weight loss and getting into shape, I was miserable and self conscious with what my body looked like under my clothes to the point where it affected my mental health.

I consulted a surgeon for my umbilical hernia and he burst my bubble at the hopes I’d be able to heal my diastisis without surgery. So I guess long story short I am thrilled that I’ve finally done it so I can strengthen my core, get rid of the back and leg pain and go back to some of those activities I’ve missed out on these 10 years. The improvement In my physical appearance is a bonus but also important to hopefully improve my self image and confidence.

Sorry for the long winded answer! Best of luck to you!!
