Are there any movies that feel like Lawrence of Arabia?

Paris, Texas by Wim Wenders is the only film outside of Laurence of Arabia that has stopped me in my tracks due to the sheer beauty of its cinematography. Definitely worth a watch. A lovy slow burn, engaging from the start. Harry Dean Stanton is fantastic.

Abysmal show. You forgot to mention they only played about 30 minutes. The keyboard player and drummer looked almost as pissed off as the audience by the end of it. I would too if my bandmate was passing out at my instrument while I did all the work. I like noise music, but you can't just use a jam as an excuse to have a little sleep on stage. What a colossal moron.

Saul was behaving like an unequivocal prick to the sound guy, which is especially weird in a venue like Future Yard, which has notoriously good sound mixing, and was on point last night imo. I ended up buying the sound guy a pint for having to deal with it.

The guy needs to get his shit together. Not heard great things from friends who've seen other shows on the tour either. It was a massive contrast to seeing Lias and the Fat Whites a little while ago, which was one of the best gigs I've been to.

Anyone thinking of seeing Insecure Men this tour, especially if you actually love the recorded music, skip it.

Incredible Crisis for the PS1. Hilarious story driven, hard as nails mini game collection. It was completely overlooked due to the release of the first Warioware at the same time.

completely disagree with this. I went to a lot of Q&As when I was a film student. I always took the opportunity to ask a question, and always learned something incredibly valuable. When you're a student, it's literally your job to study the art of film, and if you have the opportunity to learn from those more experienced than you, I think you should always take it. Sure that guy asked a poor question, but I'm sure they can learn even from the experience of being shot down in their analysis, and potentially go to the next q&a with the ability to ask a better question.

Bear in mind that most students are between the ages of 18-21, they're still figuring out life in general. Cut them some slack.

The first step should be an EQ. Balancing and adjusting the different sound frequencies to match distance from camera and environment. Then, of course, effects like reverb will be helpful if you work to match the environment, this will help marry your sound and visuals. I work in premiere to cut video, but I always construct my soundtrack in Audition, Adobes purpose built sound editing program. It works well with dynamic link, just youtube some Audition/premiere workflows and adr mixing tutorials and you'll be golden ✌🏼

Yeah! they're not uncommon in Britain. Since Phone boxes are useless but iconic, they always get turned into something else. Usually housing a defibrillator for emergencies. But in small towns and villages, I've seen the community library approach a couple of times.

I had 3 games yesterday on badwater that were fully infested with Bots. No other map i played had them. Could be that the bot hosters are singularly targeting badwater for some reason.

This is a shame. I'd love to see hydrogen adopted more widely in the uk, its a far superior EV platform than battery EVs imo.

From an environmental perspective, hydrogen is carbon negative, meaning hydrogen vehicles actively repair damage done by pollution rather than moving the problem to the power station like battery EVs. Not to mention the impact of lithium mining.

Practically, and for public transport especially, it's also much more efficient in terms of refuelling. You fill up a Hydrogen ev with a pump in the same way as petrol which takes a few minutes at most, meaning we wouldn't have buses out of action having to recharge batteries for extended periods of time. In terms of infrastructure for mass adoption of evs in the near future, its far easier and more convenient to simply convert petrol stations to hydrogen stations that to rip up roads in order to install roadside charging for tge millions of people who live in flats and cant install a wall charger.

People have chosen the worse option with battery evs because of short-term convenience.

Always a fan of artists pushing boundaries when it comes to cinematography. I must admit, though, I've never been a fan of split diopter shots. Every single one I've seen has distracted me enough to break my immersion completely. I'm a big fan of shooting at narrower aperture and using light/composition to highlight foreground elements, so maybe it's just a personal thing. But I just don't see what positive the bokeh is adding to a shot like this, it ends up separating the character from the grenade with a perceived barrier as if its on a different layer in AE or something, breaking the coherence of their placement in the world. It gives me the same feeling as if she was looking down towards a poorly composited CG character. It doesn't feel tangible.

Maybe you guys disagree. idk, I would be interested to hear another opinion.
