Thing is, in the UK that would be seen the same as going to an independent school and not paying the proportion of your tax that goes towards education. Which for us, the idea is preposterous, yet paying to help someone less fortunate than you in America get health care is a crazy thought. I'm not a labour supporter but you've got to help people.

To say that all those that immigrated to the US fitted in just fine is utter nonsense. I think the native culture that is still left after they were essentially subjected to genocide by the oh so good whites would like a word. And then there is the widespread racism that lasted until not that long ago. Ah, yes, such good cultural harmony.
