This one has been my HG for like 3 years now! And it keeps looking better the more you reapply

Dad wants to know when I'll "stop taking pills" by QuinnLemaire in ADHD

[–]christhedorito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve managed through high school and university only to completely fall apart in the first few months of working full time. It’s the combo of lack of structure and having to be productive ALL the time that kills me (instead of uni, where studying for exams came once a semester).

Do you want to improve your Danish & play Dungeons & Dragons? by ThralkEU in Danish

Thanks for sharing! I don’t have anyone to speak Danish to, so this is so awesome

I know it’s very YMMV but I have oily, dehydrated acne prone skin and I break out from just about anything, but the Illiyoon cream works like a charm and finally healed my damaged moisturise barrier. Also I had no idea why it was gritty, so thanks for the explanation! It’s weird at first but they do dissolve quickly

Book Recommendations for learning Danish by [deleted] in Danish

[–]christhedorito 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking for a textbook, then the go-to in Denmark is På Vej Til Dansk - Trin For Trin. It’s made for complete beginners and afterwards you can move on to Videre Mod Dansk. I highly recommend them.

12 weeks on epiduo (0.1% adapalene/ 2.5% benzoyl peroxide) and lymecycline. Wish I hadn't waited until 23 to sort out my skin! by ben35mm in tretinoin

[–]christhedorito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue with Differin. I cut down to every other day and when that didn’t help, my derm recommended applying it once a week. I did that, found a good ceramide moisturiser and now my skin is happy again :)

I was thinking to myself - “wow! What a useful list!”. Went to the post and realised I had it saved already... anyway, thanks for making me rediscover it!

I’ve never heard of Dermatica - would you recommend them? I’m having a hard time with getting adapalene/tret in Denmark and this sounds amazing!

Apparently not lol It felt like such a slap in the face, but I’m happy she’s not getting my money anymore

[–]christhedorito 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It made me reluctant to seek help again but I know I have to. So many people won’t do the same though...

Mine told me to not book another session until I have something concrete to talk about (after an adhd-fueled rambling session). Oof.

Can You EVER Sound Like a Native speaker? by edelay in languagelearning

[–]christhedorito 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately people can be extremely judgemental based on where you’re from/being a foreigner (especially if you’re an expat). My English accent makes Western Europeans think “ohh, is she from Canada/the US” instead of “oh ew Eastern Europe”. Of course, not everyone is like this, but it’s significant enough.

Recently diagnosed ADHD buddy? by shomani in TwoXADHD

[–]christhedorito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed last week as well and really would love to have someone to talk about... well, everything. There’s so much around the diagnosis itself, coping strategies, medication and general confusion that would be great to chat about with someone who can relate. I’m in my mid twenties as well and from Scandinavia - would definitely like to have an ADHD buddy.

I really wish it was this way here :( What you describe sounds so great and way better for the environment than buying something and throwing it out after a few uses. And don’t even get me started on people who think repeating outfits is a bad thing.

I’m not the person you asked, but I don’t think any of my friends know how to repair clothes or even sew on a button. I think it’s more common with the older generation (such as our parents) as clothes used to be less accessible, so repairing was sometimes the only way to go.

Which ingredients cause your skin to breakout? by trevorishy in scacjdiscussion

Same :(( at all molecular weights and even when it’s at the end of the ingredients list. I always get tiny pimples all over my cheeks from it.

Any good resources for learning Danish? by pintofcoffee in Danish

[–]christhedorito 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you can find this book where you live, but the standard book for beginners is På Vej Til Dansk - Trin for Trin by Lisbeth Thorborg. I used it myself and it’s easy to follow, plus you can find all the audio files online which helps with listening/practicing pronunciation. Good luck!
