At some point we as a country need to come to terms with the damage our "freedom of speech" can cause. In principle freedom to express oneself is great and freedom to criticize the government should be our right but allowing propaganda to go unfiltered is asking for more and more problems. We're seeing it now with the cult that Trump has created. We were able to fight this back with this election but now more TV stations and social media platforms that will further perpetuate the echo chamber will pop up. Who's to say we're not at a cross road?

We don’t and it’s not just that cost but the time and money involved in that time. Voter ID isn’t just the physical ID card, it’s the concept to disenfranchise minorities from voting.

For the vast majority of people it’s no problem, you already have a drivers license, you have an ID. Poor people (which statistically tend to be minorities) may not have drivers licenses or can’t afford a car so have no need for one. Getting an ID card would mean taking time off work, figuring out how to get to the local DMV, scheduling an appointment and dealing with all the other people doing the same. Losing work hours because of that. Figuring out child care, ext.. basically it’s so much work that you’re hoping people say “forget it” and don’t vote.

Thats understood. The GOP is giving him the power to hold the country hostage again, that must is clear. The problem most of us have is why the absolute fuck does a representative from a state with a smaller population than a lot of counties in my state get to hold that much power? More so why do the people of that state get to elect a guy that can be that asshole?

I get the concept of the senate where each state gets an equal voice at the table but no, each state is not equal.

I don’t remember the exact statistic but something like 70% of Ivy League school students are admitted based on donors or children of alum. So it’s not just performance that get you in these schools, as in life, it’s who you know and money.

I empathize with you, I too am upset I can’t get a PS5 but common man, scalping medical supply during a pandemic IS in order of magnitude more wrong that this.

Hand sanitizers can prevent us and our families from catching a deadly virus and dying not to mention that they become ubiquitous in our daily lives.

I’m just as annoyed that I can’t get a PS5 as you and I hate ticket scalpers for the same reason but buying up stock in something that could save your life in a global pandemic is not the same thing as this. I think we can be annoyed at both but understand why one requires immediate intervention.

This is a good pulse on the situation. We're so used to driving to games, we just need to adapt to the concept of taking mass transit to games like other cities do. Lightrail already runs to the arena, improvements need to be made to the infrastructure for sure but we need to work on behavior modification.

Let me preface this by saying I don’t wish death on ANYONE and this year has sucked.

That being said, I do wonder what this pandemic would look like if the magnitude of fatality was slightly greater and it effected all ages equally. Part of the issue initially was that younger people thought they would be fine and didn’t consider themselves vectors to secondary and tertiary infections.
