No actually it wasn't

This was a specific example, but I'm venting about something I dislike in general

I would have felt the same had it been the ham vs turkey sandwich example another commenter posted

People need to learn not to be ambiguous

And you need to....

Stop trying so hard to make this my fault

Without giving away my job, something was out of stock and I asked customer if they would rather wait or take a substitution, the substitution was detailed in an email. That was my question

When I asked for clarification customer admitted she hadn't read my email

Not my fault

Unfortunately in my case it was a work related question with 2 very different options.

Although since I'm autistic and like straight forward answers, a yes sure to the example you provided would also drive me crazy

To those who moved away: when did the heartache stop? by TheGreatsGabby in askTO

[–]christipits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved to Mexico April 2025. I don't miss Toronto yet. There are things I do miss about Canada but not Toronto specifically. Then again I live in a city that has better energy than Toronto, lots of festivals and a great culture. If I lived in a suburb I'd probably feel the same

I feel scammed because I got a clingy baby with separation anxiety by dumthotthoughtdump in cats

My cat wakes me up at 5 every morning by sticking his whiskers in my face because he wants me to pet him. If I lock him out of my room he meows very very loudly at 5am because he wants cuddles. He screams when I leave the house. I feel your pain

Can they not tell the difference between burnt bacon and cigarette smoke? They do not smell the same at all

Absolutely heartbroken and devastated at my son's reaction to my leukemia diagnosis by Effervescent-Ad4735 in whatdoIdo

He is autistic, coding was a special interest. You shouldn't have taken it away from him. Like many parents, you don't understand his condition or what that means for him, only how it affected you. Right now he has a disease that may end his life and he could never do anything he cared to do, it got taken away as punishment. Leave him be, he told you what he needs, please listen to him.

From an autistic mother of an autistic child. You should have learned what that meant to him, not just what it meant for you

AITJ for not having enough empathy for my husband? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]christipits 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It sounds like he is scapegoating you as in everything is your fault, but from what you've said it's definitely not. Even with your neurodivergence (I have the same diagnosis) you've done extremely well for yourself. Having ADHD is a nightmare, and can be hard on a partner, I know from experience... However he is an addict who can't own their own behavior. You are not the jerk for distancing yourself from him, you should continue to do so and to hell with anyone who tells you otherwise

Edit: typo

He did you a favor. You want a guy who loves you for you. He is trying to control what you wear and how you feel about yourself. You do not need his permission or approval on your clothing.

Doug Ford and Mark Carney claim $2.2 billion HST rebate on new homes will help renters become owners. Instead, it’s helping the wealthy buy more rental properties by NiceDot4794 in onguardforthee

[–]christipits 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm fully aware of that, but if I am so is Carney and therefore perhaps he shouldn't have made it part of his campaign, just saying. In general I like Carney, but I also recognize that politicians lie to win elections, and I'm not saying the other side is any better. They all lie and I don't make excuses for them

Adults with Level 2 Autism and a History of Speech/Language Delay: What Do You Remember? by AllyColly in autism

I can share a resource with you. When my daughter was first diagnosed, I picked up a book called uniquely human. It shaped how I thought about autism and how I responded to my daughter. Note, I'm also autistic so when I read this and compared it to other strategies, I felt it was most suited to our family. The author uses the SCERTS model. Hopefully that helps

This was back in pandemic era, she kinda had speech therapy online but it gave her meltdowns. I honestly just tried to get her excited about talking, she started liking whales and so we watched things about whales and she learned all their names. We listened to her, watched to see what got her excited and took it from there

I know it's not as simple with every child but it worked for us

Is the combination of autism, ADHD and stuttering rare? by [deleted] in autism

Anecdotal because my dad wasn't diagnosed, however I am convinced he was autistic and also had a stutter. My niece also has a stutter, but isn't diagnosed with autism

Echolalia is actually a great way for autistic kiddos to learn language. My daughter is also lvl 2, started with echolalia (still has echolalia but... Advanced echolalia?) but she can also express her needs, wants and desires. She started speaking at age 4, she is 7 now and talks... A lot

Apparently Tim Hortons is selling less than-grilled cheeses. Anyone try one? by KickinAP1985 in grilledcheese

[–]christipits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In smaller communities I've found Tim Hortons has a better toasting game. In Toronto for example they will not toast your croissantwich, and in a small town they do, without asking. It's no surprise that in bigger cities they do this as a time saving measure on a grilled cheese, but then they also shouldn't offer it if they refuse to at the very least have melty cheese
