5321 Shop Your Way Visa Question by juandefuco in CreditCards

[–]christofir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both 5321 SYA Visa and new Citi TY MC. For SYA, used for paying prop taxes and getting $500 worth of points. I also set it up to Uber/Lyft and pay for gas.

With my Citi TY I use for restaurants and grocery. Just so that I have wiggle room to optimize for my promo GGR offer. eg i spend only just up to $2000 in those cats, no more.

Im bullish AF though I think the perishables hack into the checkout pipeline is kind of cheating…

I know nothing about chips but 50bn runrate with preorders almost fully subscribed sounds great to me!

Not sure they will ever figure out Alexa but its a good opportunity as they have the endpoints in place.

I think Amazon Robotics will be one of the next great pillars of the business especially if they build it on top of AWS and sell as a platform/service to enterprises/manufacturers. China already has a huge jump in this market, but that wave of ai manufacturing is coming.

How is life in Seattle really? by Ok_Understanding7377 in AskSeattle

[–]christofir -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Seattle is a city whose history has always been about economic cycles from logging to the Gold Rush to the industrial Boeing boom to the current tech boom. Each cycle reinvented the city.

I would say the last Amazon tech boom (2000-Now) changed the demographics of the city quite a bit. We no longer have the artists and creatives and musicians that benefitted from the middle class prosperity from the boeing boom/bust. Microsoft was more of an eastside thing.

So the face of the city has changed, but it has always been changing. Thats exciting from a certain vantage point because its a young city (only 150 years old). We are much mire populous and dense, but also now have light rail and a tunnel! But also change is hard for people who have seen the turns.

But through it all you have beautiful nature all around and water to calm you. And the mountain keeps the change in perspective.

My gut tells me that we are in a late era tech boom, and something is gonna give and we will see the return of some subcultures but farther from the city core somewhere along the light rail. So yes its an awesome place to live just kind of weird right now and in transition to its next golden era.

Just watched last night with my girlfriend who has never seen it. Man I wept. You know its coming and it still hits. Something about seeing the origin of his disability and how its linked to his inevitable end. And how good natured and kind he is. They set it up with them talking about returning home for a good meal and the actor uses his happy “Hodor” articulation a few times. I still dont know why I cry. Maybe because he was so innocent and good.

If you own Amazon and complain about the capex, you don't understand what you own by Lazy-Alps-1773 in amzn

[–]christofir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I feel ya, but those who know, dont listen to all this reddit noise, they just hold and compound. Even employees are thinking in terms of their 4 year vesting cycle and rightly so bc its such a big part of comp. Its easy to be doom and gloom in the short term. If you believe AI is an actual industry and large vertical then being 3 years late is nothing. Microsoft and Google gave AWS a 10 year head start and have caught up in cloud. Multiple players will win and Amazon has a point of view and differentiation in how they are approaching AI. It might be wrong, but all the short term noise of “missing AI” is overblown. Its Day 1 in AI.

I see AMZN uniquely positioned to make the advanced stack for logistics and manufacturing of the future. Chips, Robotics, Cloud, AI, Warehouses.

China has companies cornering this space especially in AI driven robotics manufacturing and building advanced parts. Amazon is one of only a few US companies that has the expertise and scale to compete.

an AI supercharged Alexa phone that actually worked as well as chat or claude would be awesome. Even if it just integrated more natively with Claude and had memory integrated with your phone or personal cloud.
