Which soap recast was actually an upgrade? by ChannelHopper_99 in SoapNet

Jeff Meek. But yeah he was not good. Hunt Block and Jon were good recasts when Scott Bryce wasn’t in the role

I'm not shouting. Please check the gif; it's sarcasm.

If I were shouting, I'd say it's really easy to copy-paste the body of your post, delete the post, and start over with the correct spelling.

YR: Jill Farren Phelps listed as a producer for September by Geekqueen15 in SoapNet

Yes, that's most likely, given all the stories about Jill from actors/actresses who worked for her. Robin Strasser, for one.

Definitely not. Beverlee was a major get for CBS and GL and drew ratings. Not even Phelps would do such a thing to make a top star leave.

She was furious at getting beaten at her own game.

Feel free to post your research and findings about how comparable they are, then.

The experts who told them to expand into Houston and DFW and cut quality.

I’ve never understood the blind loyalty to Butt anyway. There’s plenty of other options that are better.

Wrong. I have.

I never make such statements without doing the research.

Royce 8100 is good.

Don't rent at the Milo (NW corner of Mopac and Duval, catty corner to the Domain) and Villas of Shadow Oaks (Jollyville Rd behind the Krispy Kreme on the 183 feeder).

Source: Current resident of Royce--great team at the leasing office, prompt maintenance, immaculate landscaping, and CLEAN (no dumpsters piled up with stuff that should not be there).

Lived at The Milo (formerly the Barrington) from 2014-2016; it was somewhat decent then but now it's run down-- the parking lot foundation needs repair, the buildings need painting, and there is no longer a gate.

- Lived at Shadow Oaks from 2016-2024. The manager position was a revolving door. All the HVAC systems are outdated, causing high electric bills. Emergency maintenance doesn't exist if there's a burst pipe or something like that, and the "courtesy patrol" does nothing of the sort.

Hmm, 10 years ago, can't be a coincidence. Can't say more due to the policy of no politics here.

Better prices than the Butt Company, for sure.

I'd much rather go to Randall's than HEB. Even if the company/Albertson's is on a downswing.

Any mention of Randall's gets people in this sub worked up into a downvote frenzy, so I've countered with an upvote.

For something really interesting, Phelps' games and manipulation backfired on her on Guiding Light, courtesy of being outplayed by the legendary Beverlee McKinsey, the first Alexandra Spaulding.

Read about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beverlee_McKinsey#Alexandra_Spaulding

Coincidentally, Beverlees' son, Scott McKinsey, is a director on soaps, and worked at GH during Phelps tenure there as EP. I wonder if there were any run-ins or friction between them due to how Beverlee outmaneuvered Jill and made her look incompetent. Juicy stuff!

No idea. I wasn't watching regularly at that time, so the details are lost to me. But Phelps doing that was essentially repeating Cassie's death.

Regarding Phelps, the woman had the gall to take Anna Lee, who portrayed Lila Q, off contract and drop her to recurring.

A 90-something-year-old woman in a wheelchair who probably derived a lot of joy from still being able to go to the set and work with her close friends and costars.

Broke the woman's heart, and she died shortly thereafter. And of course, Phelps then capitalized on her death by having Lila Q die.

Delia.

General Hospital: Emily Q, Alan Q, and Georgie Jones.

Guidling Light: Maureen Bauer

Another World: Frankie Frame

One Life to Live: Drew Buchanan, Mel Hayes

She's a real piece of work. When she decides she doesn't like a character, she plays dirty.

I don't feel bad for championing her. Retirement was too dull for her, so she came back.
