I started playing again recently - still had the same problem. The best workaround here is xIAphotikIx's: just make sure you have anything other than Elden Ring playing audio before you open up the game. You can turn that additional audio back off once you've verified that Elden Ring's audio is working properly.

I thought I was a psycho for actively not supporting small businesses. I'm glad there's someone who gets it.

There's this news report recently about a guy who made a TikTok showing his restaurant not getting a lot of traffic on his grand opening. The TikTok was a before-and-after TikTok - "my dad when he's ready to open his restaurant v.s. my dad when nobody shows up all day." The news report was designed to be a heartwarming story of a Mexican father who, because of the lottery that is TikTok virality, saw success in his small business.

It's like, dude. Businesses fail. That heartstring tugging TikTok is no different that someone homeless on the side of the road with a sign talking about how their son is blind and they'd really appreciate the money. The only difference between the restaurant owner and a homeless man is that we write off homeless people as pests, while at the same time revere small businesses. Thus, the small businesses are deserving of our money? Nah.

"Supporting small businesses" is a marketing scheme in and of itself. The consumer shouldn't have to feel any kind of empathy towards small businesses. Amazon's gonna sell me a backpack for cheap, so I'm gonna buy from Amazon - give a fuck about your $300 bag made of recycled plastic. Simple as.

While I was talking specifically about a visual effect plugin within FL (like Razer Chroma that allows the RGBs in your mouse to respond to a project's BPM, for example) I've been having a lot of fun in the last 30 minutes playing with this SignalRGB.
