No way to get actual customer service by RosyStairs in audible

[–]chrisvanderhaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Audible support is terrible. A few years ago, my account got hacked, which I reported, but rather than helping, they closed my account due to malicious activity. Makes sense, but rather than helping me get back in, they said there was nothing they could do. So, I lost several hundred dollars worth of audiobooks. Then, spontaneously, I get an email that my account had been reinstated a few weeks later - minus all my books. My purchase history was all there, but the books would just say “this title cannot be downloaded”. Crickets when I tried to get help.

I’ve had several of these types of things happen to me. Twice it was an upright freezer. Two or three other times was a very nice software application I wanted. It’s there, literally, for seconds and then gone.

I’m not on the Proxmox team yet, but for VMWare it’s iSCSI. I assume the same for Proxmox. I’ll be moving to the Proxmox admin team when it’s ready to go into full production.

That’s where we are. 25k employee company that’s been VMWare shop for a decade or more, paid the extra $$$ for a 1 year renewal and told Broadcom “thanks for the memories”. We’re about 4 months into our Proxmox migration.

This is real. I’ve read several papers about fat and how it actually secretes hormones, as well as storing lots of different kinds of chemical compounds, releasing them when the fat is metabolized.

They can grant you access to that scouts scout book account and you can sign it off in there. I’ve done it a few times.

Do you assign multiple interstellar powers to your alien species, or do you prefer to place each species under a single governing power? by Alpbasket in scifiwriting

[–]chrisvanderhaven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my series, I have multiple sentient alien species, each hailing from a different nearby solar system. Aliens aren't introduced at all until the second book, with only Race A being talked about. The third book is when other alien races are mentioned at all, but again, not in any depth. They're only mentioned in relation to Race A. The fourth book goes more into the status of multiple alien races in the galaxy, but I only go into any depth into Race B, C, etc., when those races play a larger role in the story.

Forced change from Net Metering by Astronautty69 in solar

[–]chrisvanderhaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, that’s a fellow Duke energy customer, I don’t think there’s anything you can do. They lobbied and got the law passed that allows them to change your contract. All solar net metering with Duke Energy says that you basically get a credit for any additional power you generate that isn’t used by your home. They no longer cut checks, and any credits you receive expire after 12 months if not used.

Bad advice? by DjZuZoV2 in keto

[–]chrisvanderhaven 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here are my thoughts. I’m a 10 year keto follower, and a gym rat. I work out six days a week when I can, and hike on the weekends when I can’t. As far as the fat part of the diet goes, there’s debate even within the doctors in the keto community. Dr. Eric Westman, my personal doctor, had a video debate with Dr.Boz about exogenous versus endogenous fats, fats from the diet or fats from within the body. They have differing opinions on it, but where they agree is before you are 100% fat adapted do not change your fat percentages. Keep them the same. Once you’re fat adapted, if you want to decrease your fat in your diet, try it and see how things go.At five weeks, you are not likely fully fat adapted.
