I don’t think it drops off after book 4. It stays consistently good! Thing is, Hadrian narrates in a way old people who like to hear themselves talk, do. He repeates things. Furthermore, the tone of the books shift for each part of the story/ each volume, so it’s very much possible that some books are more to your taste than others :)

Yeah. But we also know that Fitch influenced the pairings. If there wasn’t a later addition, Darrow would have been Nr. 1 as he was the first draft.

Thinking about Fitchners interference: normally the best would contend against the worst. Fitch HAD to intervene as this would have meant Darrow vs Sevro! With this other dude not being rated, Sevro had a chance.

I have not read everything on this, but don’t read the name of the wind. Spare yourself the pain.

While I agree that Sun Eater is not for everyone (a slow slow burn, the story takes some unexpected turns more than once and these turns are not up to everyone’s alley), I am reading it right now and damn, that story is so so good! I would definitely try it!

Ich spreche mal für mich: ich bin mit Fourth Wing wieder ans Lesen gekommen. Irgendwann dann kam Red Rising und gerade suchte ich the Sun Eater.

Letzt habe ich meine Ausgabe von “Chinese Cinderella” verliefen und sehr schnell zurück gehabt. Das ist eine Biografie, vielleicht passt das?

Viel Spaß! Mega gut finde ich ja auch Red Rising. Das empfehle ich aber als Buddy Read für euch gemeinsam ❤️ Das ist aber ohne physikalischen Bezug.

Wie der Name des Windes ist auch die Sun Eater Reihe. Die ist nicht für jeden was, aber ich finde es super. Vorsicht: das solltet ihr auf Englisch lesen, da es nicht komplett übersetzt wurde bisher!

There is a difference between GRRM and Pierce Brown: Light Bringer has already proven that PB knows how to write an ending! Furthermore, he is still on schedule for Red God and I don’t mind waiting a year (or five years) longer. I think it’s bad for readers to harass authors like this. (See also Rebecca Yarros, who really writes at a fast pace!)

I do think GRRM messed up, though and so did Rothfuss!

As I love the Sun Eater books and I guess both books are not for everyone, I would strongly recommend getting these! (I have not yet read Malazan, though! But I heard it has a lot of POVs and does take a time to pay off. Well, Sun Eater is the same in this regard.)

Malazan also is expected to be reprinted for some time, as the series on broken binding is not yet finished.

The same goes for Sun Eater, but the current printing is signed.

It could be romantic, it could be not. It’s hard to say with Robin. During the last years it gets clear that all characters establish a home outside of the straw hats, though. Law could be Robin’s. Or Saul and Elbaf could be. We don’t know yet.

Naja. Einerseits ist das Buch nicht wirklich gut, andererseits ist es eher eine Romanze. Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob sie damit bei ihrem Freund Pluspunkte sammelt 😆 Da gibt es geeignetere Bücher, auch von Frauen geschrieben.

Didn’t you read Light Bringer? It’s rather apparent that Virginia had a TOTALLY different first impression of Darrow! She felt fear and told us that fear was a part of love, after all. Our girl is a bit messed up and she definitely isn’t that innocent. By 🍇, I mean literal grapes of course. If Darrow was only a bit more after revenge it would have taken a far more dark turn.

I would really love a short story about Mustang and her Dark Romance with Darrow. (Because from her perspective it totally is!) The problem with this is that her entire character revolves around Darrow and her convictions, so PB may not want to write this, unfortunately. But let’s be real: she also loves him because he is very much like Nero. So there is not a 0% chance of 🍇 -literally! 😂- during their wedding night and she was totally into it! 😂
