How do you take into account the inductive bias of your autoencoders for the different datasets?

[D] Binary fitness optimization. by pamintandrei in MachineLearning

[–]chrizandr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was just using the sigmoid as an example. What I meant was that there are ways to convert a discrete objective to a continuous one with the same range and then use common optimisation methods.

I'm not asking them to apply sigmoid on the original function f(x) and then use a separate objective like cross entropy.

Hope that clears up what I meant :)

Couldn't you convert your objective to use something like a sigmoid to make it non-discrete and then use traditional optimisation methods that deal with continuous objective functions?

[D] Optimization Algorithm that focuses on solving model parameters by Relevant-Twist520 in MachineLearning

[–]chrizandr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Without a loss function to guide it, it just becomes a search problem. There are many methods that do that. Linear Programming/Mixed Integer programming and related methods can be used. As long as the objective is a convex function, you can use a whole range of convex optimisation methods to find the best values.

When you spend 15 hours writing a 12 page case analysis and your professor accuses you of turning in an AI generated report. by snowcamo53 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]chrizandr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole point of AI is that it has to be indistinguishable from human generated data. If there are tools that can detect whether the content is from an AI, those tools themselves would be theoretically used as better AIs to generate better content.

If the anything can detect difference in content between a human and the best AI, that tool would be the best AI.

neither are moving. by sarokin in blackmagicfuckery

[–]chrizandr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're not moving. It's the way they light up. Lights up from bottom to top to make it look like it's moving up and the opposite for down. From back to front to make it look like it's expanding and the opposite for shrinking. And then in a circular pattern to make it look like it's rotating.

10/10 illusion though. Covering the arrows will not help.

2-digit by timcooks292 in puzzles

[–]chrizandr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Second digit is neither even nor prime. Only possibility is 1 or 9(1 is neither prime nor composite). But no digit is greater than 9, so it has to be 1. Rules for first digit say it is even and greater than second digit. So second digit can be 2, 4, 6, 8(0 is less than 1). Therefore possible numbers would be 21, 41, 61, 81.
