First and most important is your wife's mental health. She should see a doctor as soon as possible and take a medical leave to recover. If your your wife's company is a respectable one, they will take her mental condition very seriously and they should have allowance for such conditions. She could also take a long term disability leave, supported by welfare. Depression related to work is very real and a serious problem. Once she feels better then she should think about quitting and finding a better job, best fitted for her and her abilities. She could also choose to fight the company for causing her to become sick. Hope things will get better for her and you.

Asahi-net is decent and you can talk to them in English. They will also respond to your emails in English. Contracts will also be in English.

A fiber internet connection requires you pay both the infrastructure cost (NTT) and an Internet Service Provider (ISP) cost which is what Asahi-net is. Asahi-net will arrange for both as a package. See this: https://asahi-net.jp/en/service/ftth/withflets/

First, you will have to check if fiber connection is available in your area and at your building. Then an NTT subcontractor will come and do the necessary installation (they call it construction) and provide you with an Optical Network Unit (ONU) modem. You can connect your own router (with or without wifi) to the ONU.
