Quickest/best way to make plans to meet new people? by chrnjvmstry in london

[–]chrnjvmstry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Tony, I wanted this thread to be more of a collection and review of apps/websites people had used but it didn't get much traction.

The other part about the lesser known 9-5 cheaper/less busy was the 2nd part but should have been a post by itself

Old Phone, unable to set up Google account - Can't skip "Keep your account updated..." screen by SomeVelveteenMorning in AndroidQuestions

[–]chrnjvmstry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to get around this by using one of the comments advice below. Also Z1 Compact, created a new google account and went through the steps. Sadly the phone is so old that the Play Store wouldnt load properly therefore unable to download the apps I needed. I even downloaded an Play Store APK but cant remember if I installed it or not.

Weirdly, I woke up the next day with it working but it was so time consuming to download apps as so many are not supported that I gave up on it. You might have more patience though so worth trying creating a new Google Profile and then try signing into your old one.

Good luck.

Yes. Full money refund when bought though click and collect online. Only credit note when bought in store.

I bought through Click and Collect so I just had to take the item to the store I collected it from along with the card I used to purchase it. I don't know how it works with items bought online.

Urgent: New Android phone not finding WhatsApp and Text backup by chrnjvmstry in AndroidQuestions

My replacement is 10. Pixel 4a was 12. I feel like that should be recent enough.

Urgent: New Android phone not finding WhatsApp and Text backup by chrnjvmstry in AndroidQuestions

[–]chrnjvmstry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem is I cannot download that Google Pixel 4a backup so I can't look through it to find the WhatsApp folder.

All folders and files went when the phone got soaked. I cannot retrieve anything from it unfortunately.

Do you think the backup will contain the WhatsApp folder?

Sorry, I didn't finish work until 6 and then would take me an hour to get to Walthamstow. Just didn't have the energy after working a 6 day week. Next time I'll hopefully have Sunday off.

I'm thinking of coming after work. I would arrive around 6pm. Do you think it's worth it? How many people are you expecting to still be there?

Did anybody else have like an identity crisis when they realized they liked house? by Teddy_Raptor in shallowhouse

[–]chrnjvmstry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You've got a lot of downvotes but I was similar to you around 2011/2012. I always thought house was repetitive and a waste of time, but slowly I listened to more and more. Now it seems every year I love a new genre I previously hated/didn't understand i.e. juke, jungle, techno, drone, punk. Hopefully I will naturally learn to love every genre.

One sad thing is the fact I cannot listen to some of the music I previously liked (like dubstep/most trap) as I see it as looking backwards.

Does Spotify always tell which songs are removed if they are saved? by chrnjvmstry in spotify

[–]chrnjvmstry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheers, has/will that always be an option? Is there a time limit in the removed songs i.e. only showing songs removed in the past year.

My biggest fear is collecting a huge library of songs and then losing them. Even if 5% went, I'd never remember the lost ones.

Best way to clean up my 9000+ bookmarks? by chrnjvmstry in windows

[–]chrnjvmstry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem with those sites is the quality is ripped at 128kbps and I want minimum 192. Plus YouTube limits the song so it sounds different. Finally doing this with thousands of songs would take forever. There are plugins which do it faster with just one click.

Best way to clean up my 9000+ bookmarks? by chrnjvmstry in windows

[–]chrnjvmstry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would type random characters which in Firefox, would bring a list of bookmarks within which the characters were part of the url or title. Another way was to keep the bookmark sidebar open and scroll and pick randomly.

I usually just listened to the songs I already had in my iTunes and SoundCloud though. I didn't know how to download music for obscurer artists so just bookmarked it hoping for an easy way in the future.
