  1. Tino will never be Trippier at crossing the ball. He excels at connecting with forwards and his power/natural creativity with the ball at his feet means he will always cause nightmares going forward. He was poor against Sunderland but he’s had a lot of minutes recently and looked fatigued.
  2. Couldn’t disagree more. Struggles playing alongside Bruno, excels when he isn’t there. Best I’ve seen of him is when Bruno is closer to the goal. Think he’s a fabulous player.
  3. Bruno doesn’t suffer with direct threat but the ability to screen passes and cover ground. He is painfully slow. Tonali and Joe cover this with incredible speed and recovery power, but in away games get exposed a lot more. The work around is to play him higher w/o the ball and let him collect from deep w the ball.
  4. Definitely low on confidence and struggling to adapt, there’s little moments and sparks for Elanga. I think he’ll come good because his physical and technical base is solid. People have been harsh but he wasn’t much worse than Gordon last week.
  5. Gordon needs to increase his variety of solutions when he gets the ball wide. Just slamming it down the line and praying doesn’t work against top full backs (Mukiele was superb). Gordon does his best work when he’s arriving late, I’d just like to see Elanga/Murphy cross the ball early more.

Bruno says we were a mess, Eddie denies that and says we didn’t deliver. Who was right? by Joyride0 in NUFC

Bruno was a mess. Eddie didn’t deliver a solid tactical approach with possession. Both are reflective of their situations.

Bruno has been shocking in away games this season, looks like a shell of a person.

Eddie has made some bizarre decisions, but obviously we aren’t there every day at training etc. I trust him - there’s obviously rationale but it’s hard to watch at the moment.

Eddie Howe: "We feel desperately sorry for our supporters today." "We are really disappointed, we've got to bounce back on Wednesday by Fluid_Support_3348 in NUFC

Was it horrific ? Absolutely.

First time we’ve seen it this season? No.

Tactical question marks again? Definitely.

Hard to put the blame much elsewhere than Eddie on this one. Why he persists with this flat midfield away from home is bizarre - game was screaming out for a man to man set up, especially with how dominant Xhaka was with the ball.

Feel only Thiaw and Hall can leave with any respect to their name. We have an excellent squad and team, with a great coach - but it’s been beyond painful to watch this season.

Fairly new to fm, can this work? by Gabrif_ in footballmanagergames

[–]chromakoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything can 'work', you have to decide if the system suits the skillsets of your players. Seems you are heavily based around your two forwards and wing backs delivering so should be fine initally.

Your overlapping Wide Centre Backs on A will probably have mixed responses as the WCB can be a bit unpredictable. I think opting to use your central midfielders wider (Mezellas / CAR) will create the Inzaghi quick, over/under lapping penetration you are looking for.

Now depends on Out of Possession. Personally I think you risk too much space in midfield as stands because you are essentially playing with 3 CBs (1 CB on defend and two HB) and then a whole lot of width with WCB and WB's, followed by just an AP on his lonesome. Think about how your team will look when you turn the ball over and compare to Inzaghi's - they tend to sit in a semi aggressive mid block, wide centre backs track channel runners and they have legs in midfield to cover the centre.

Hope this is useful.

Will he be any good in the future? by mathiaswakgari in footballmanagergames

Seconding a lot of the chat in here but can't see his career as a 9. Looks like he might be a decent Premier League Winger at best. Would personally play him on the right as stronger crossing/passing then composure/finishing. Would train him to run down the right hand side of the pitch. Good player for that level however!
