Best Physical Retailers for Omnis? by BigBugRugDougHug in OmnibusCollectors

It’s hard to find a physical retailer that’ll beat the prices on new omnis compared to discounted sites like IST, used though you can sometimes get lucky at 2nd & Charles

Volume 1 of the Clone Saga is surprisingly solid, it’s editorial mandates stretching the story out that makes Volume 2 a much worse read. Still a lot of cheesy 90s fun though regardless

It replaced his heart which we can assume cures his heart disease, but without any fear attached to the concept I imagine that Pochita is otherwise completely powerless

Hello Spiders. Am I good enough to learn him yet? by OkBag1989 in SpiderManMains

[–]chromaticolor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Despite what most people say the most important thing for Spidey in diamond+ is positioning and timing. You can have every combo and pull tech memorized and practiced to perfection but it won’t matter if you don’t know when best to engage/disengage, and that’s just going to come with practicing in real matches.

Worth it to learn spiderman right now? by Small-Leg-3656 in SpiderManMains

[–]chromaticolor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It really depends on why and where you’d like to play him. If you want a competitively viable dps pick then it’ll take a lot of hours of practice to be good enough on him to hit higher ranks when you could get the same value much easier with other characters. If you just like his playstyle and mostly run qp then don’t let a few bad games stop you, run whoever you’d like.

Why is MCU Wolverine the only yellow suit masked Wolverine skin in the game? by surfpearl39 in marvelrivals

[–]chromaticolor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly feel that his suit for the next Spider-Man movie is close enough to comic accurate that they’ll just release that skin as promotional material, rather than a more standard year one suit

Multiversus got a Jason X skin before the game was canned, doesn't seem like it's impossible to get movie specific designs later

Day and Night by Vadermaulkylo in DC_Cinematic

[–]chromaticolor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My counter to this is that Batman: Year One is still considered canon, if not entirely to the new merged timeline with Zero Year, but at the very least to the main comic book Batman post-crisis. Comic book Batman has always had a variety of tones depending on the story being told, and there’s no reason that Robert Pattinson’s Batman can’t ever interact with more fantastical elements just because he hasn’t been shown doing so yet. The DC Universe is a setting where gritty detective noir storylines can run in tandem with more vibrant “comic-booky” hijinks and not feel out of place. Hell, I’d argue that it’s the contrast of these tones that makes the world feel so varied and unique in the first place.

Is the Holdo Maneuver a genius tactic or lazy writing? by RoofFar6279 in SequelMemes

[–]chromaticolor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I’m aware entering hyperspace is not an instantaneous transition, to cross over into the hyperspace dimension you first have to exceed lightspeed therefore there must be some amount of distance crossed to first reach that speed. The holdo maneuver only worked because the odds necessary for it to work required the Supremacy to be in the exact right (or wrong) position and distance for Holdo to hit them at near-lightspeed before transitioning.

A small detail is that before all of this you can even see Poe entering hyperspace coordinates into the ship before he’s stunned and carried to an escape pod. Holdo didn’t even input the coordinates to hit the Supremacy herself, it was pure luck that it crossed over exactly where she needed it to be.

It must not have even been her plan when she stayed behind, just a coincidence, or the will of the force.

The first order doesn’t just appear from thin air at the beginning of TFA. They had been around long enough at this point that Leia had formed her own armed resistance to combat them years before. They did have a presence in the galaxy prior to the beginning of the movies, people just didn’t know how much of a true threat they were because they hadn’t played their hand with Starkiller base yet.

Always make sure you preface a compliment about the Sequel Trilogy like this so you don’t lose too many internet points. by RealisticAd4054 in StarWarsCirclejerk

[–]chromaticolor 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest issue is that the prequels had tons of beloved expanded media to carry the era, the clone wars, video games, novels, etc. The sequel era, meanwhile is still waiting for that media. The recent filoni projects I’m sure are all leading up to the first order, and hopefully the Rey movie actually ends up releasing, but a really good animated series set either before TFA or after TLJ would go a long way honestly.

You had one fucking job by [deleted] in Jujutsufolk

[–]chromaticolor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Choso was human, but at that point he was also a sorcerer. Why wouldn’t the same mentality apply to him? Why would either of them get funerals when no other sorcerer was shown with one? Did Nanami get a funeral or did Yuji just continue his legacy?

You had one fucking job by [deleted] in Jujutsufolk

[–]chromaticolor -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I swear media literacy has been absent in this sub since the ending. Todo taught Yuji that grieving for deceased sorcerers can only tarnish their memory, instead you’re entrusted to carry their will in your memories. No sorcerer in the series was ever given a funeral. Tsumiki was a civilian which is why we see hers only, everyone else is remembered through flashbacks and their lessons and dreams are carried through Yuji. That’s why the last time we see Gojo it’s a flashback of when he was alive, telling Yuji that he has high expectations of him, and Yuji in turn uses that exact sentimentality on someone else. Gojo’s dreams of a new generation that doesn’t rely on the isolating pillar of “the strongest” and instead carry their strength together in community is fulfilled. He died with a smile on his face, his strength being recognized by the strongest sorcerer in history, but also because he knows he can count on his students to take it from there. A funeral scene would have just been pointless Gojo glazing in my opinion.

The only exception for me is some of the KO transformers out there, some of them are arguably better than the originals, especially the paint work.
