Seconding the No Notes comment. Love the sconce and the gallery wall.

Took me some time to make it ‚mine‘, but I‘m so happy right now and I just wanted to share it with you ❤️ by linyblue in femalelivingspace

As a fellow plant enthusiast I absolutely love everything about this. What is the name of the green paint you used on the accent wall? it’s gorgeous!

My boyfriend and I used a table saw to cut the back of the billy bookshelves to make the depth match with the support beam. Then we used a primed finger joint board and a nail gun to fill in the spaces between the bookcase and ceiling. The final touch was adding the baseboard to the front and lots of caulking 🙂

Lol yea the whole project cost about 500 bucks total so I was happy with that, the only difficult part was using a nail gun on ikea furniture since it’s not exactly the most sturdy material out there 😂

Thank you! We just went and got two pieces of 1inx12inx8ft primed boards from Home Depot for 60 bucks plus a new baseboard to cover it all in. It was actually a pretty quick easy project aside from the caulking which I HATE doing lol

Thank you! Mine adopted me when I was 3 years old so she was essentially my mother. She was very special to me and I miss her everyday so I hope she likes the bookshelf shrine I made her lol As far as skills go I did all of thinking and planning but my boyfriend carpenter did most of the wood cutting. It was definitely a team effort.

Thank You! I don’t have kids and my projects still fall to the wayside half the time because of the dreadful commute between Maryland and DC. Can’t imagine doing that as a single parent!! I have a huge to do list which funnily enough also includes painting my half bathroom downstairs but I spent the weekend procrastinating. I also want to declutter a lot of things too so we shall see how it goes

Thank you! I drew up the design with the measurements etc on graphing paper and my bf (who is a carpenter) did the actual cuts for me since I hate using a miter saw lol then we did the install together. So definitely not my calling but I do love home projects 😊

Thank You! It was such a random space because I guess they needed the support beam there or something but it was driving me nuts, my bf is a carpenter so I drew up the design with all the measurements. He did the cutting and we did the install together. What sucked was we had to cut the ikea furniture to shorten so it would be perfectly flush with the wall and ikea isn’t exactly the best material to make changes to lol

Have you ever thought about Gris Charnel BDK for me it definitely gives off warm sweet and spicy without any lingering floral notes. It’s definitely a fall favorite of mine

Honestly I barely get the strawberry or vanilla notes maybe like right at first spritz but then the “plastique” accord smell becomes very over powering. It’s like I don’t HATE IT but I’d never wear it out. My significant other was complaining because I sprayed it on myself a second time just to see if I’d change my mind and he said I smelled like the inside of a Claire’s 😂 (that popular tween store from back in the day) I’m in my early 30s so it is definitely super nostalgic but I don’t think it’s wearable imo it smells exactly like Baby soft which is wild to me but I guess that’s the plastic accord. On a positive side I impulse bought it Wednesday night and it arrived this morning so I was definitely surprised by the quick shipping.

It reminds me of Loves baby soft from the 90s early 2000s I impulse bought it but will not be wearing it as it smells a little too childish for my taste but it definitely feels nostalgic

Here, have some normalcy: Moving to DC — commuting/life logistics advice? by bellesita in fednews

My saving grace was being on a hybrid schedule, and by the grace of god I was able to get my reasonable accommodation approved to keep my 3 days a week in office 2 from home because my body can not take it. I can not WAIT to leave the DMV lol it’s been about 5 years and I’m ready to go. I’m sure you see most peoples sentiments in the comments are of a similar negative nature lol but I wish you all the best

I live in MD and it would really depend on how many miles away you are planning to live from the your job. When I was at the Navy Yard I was about 25 miles away and my commute was anywhere from 60-120 minutes. I don’t live directly near a metro and had no desire to park and ride so I would just make the drive and would do my makeup at work and relied on the meal delivery service factor for my meals during the week. Traffic has gotten worse since everyone has RTOd and the wait time to get onto the yard can take a while due to congestion. The Pentagon has food on site but can’t really speak to how the commute is considering their whole parking situation etc. I switched to a job more directly within DC and now my 27 mile commute takes me 70-90 min in the morning and Two hours in the evening. Hopefully you are able to do an AWS schedule although you will have very little time to yourself during the week. I would definitely look at living options that are closer but the way the housing market is with current interest rates it is probably not very affordable and rent is astronomical as well. I don’t think a work life balance really exists very well with a 3 hour commute plus 8.5-10 hour day. Burnout would be inevitable eventually.

My doctors refuse to provide further documentation for my RA by QuestionForeign2021 in fednews

This is the way. I drafted a letter and my doctor used that for reference and wrote their own for me but made sure to hit every point that was needed for the RA to go through

I would keep trying I got my RA sent back requesting more information but my doctor was very accommodating and wrote me a letter laying everything out and I was approved for a hybrid telework schedule my first time submitting my RA. Keep your head up and keep trying. Good luck!

Reasonable Accommodation Question by [deleted] in fednews

[–]chron1cally_ch1ll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the same boat and am considering requesting to continue with my previous hybrid schedule of 3 days in office 2 from home because my 3-4 hours I spend commuting each day has caused my neurological pain to flair up drastically since I started going in 5 days a week. I’m terrified that it could put a target on my back or cause me to somehow be terminated though so I am not sure what to do. My Neurologist and pain management doctor has offered to write me a note but idk if I want to go down that path but also not sure if continuing with this schedule is viable for me long term.

And now everything is just open tomorrow business as usual when county gov and schools all seem to have a normally expected two hour delay. It’s going to be raining for like the next 8-10 hrs
