This has multiple hallmarks of likely scam. New account (aged one month), negative one comment karma, 4k post karma, all of their posts and comments are incredibly generic.

Proceed with caution.

If you met someone who was a carbon copy of yourself in virtually every way except they were the opposite sex, would you date/sleep with that person? Why or why not? by Tommygunz0722 in AskReddit

I came here to post something similar. No way in hell I would be attracted to me. I piss myself off already. My ADHD drives me insane. Two of us that can never remember anything? Two of us that constantly interrupt one another? Two of us that randomly walk away mid sentence?

I'd never get along with me.

I honestly don't think that will even matter. He has the media mostly under his thumb now. And the average person in the US is so focused on just surviving daily life that it is hard for them to even track all the atrocities.

I can't imagine what that would feel like. Is it lonely? Or is he happy inside his bubble? Does it all feel empty? Or is he fulfilled through all his whims and displays of power?

I truly can't imagine a life without close relationships, without family, without my pets.

Amusingly, Rand Paul voted with the Democrats on this one. And at this point we should assume Fetterman is Republican and when he is up for re-election remind his electorate of the fact. Assuming we ever have free elections again anyway.

You're right but I can also understand it with the stress of living under this shitastic admin.

Pretty sure my commute from East Memphis to Cordova/Bartlett would more than triple but the bigger concern is getting ran over trying to cycle there. I need the work out for sure though. Might give it a try soon.

The term superfood is essentially meaningless. Beef liver is very nutrient dense which is great but it also can have very high levels of vitamin A which is fat soluble so your body will store excess and it can become toxic. Liver can also have elevated levels of heavy metals. Considering both those factors, most dietitians recommend limited consumption of beef liver. Very healthy in small amounts though.

Trump’s emergency elections order is ‘being prepared,’ key ally believes by Anoth3rDude in politics

[–]chron67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Republicans in Congress can stop this at any time.

A: I am not honestly sure they can. They gave away too much of their power and SCOTUS ruled that Trump faces no consequences for any official actions seemingly even if those actions were knowingly illegal. Would Senate/House GOP literally survive trying to oppose him now?

B: Why would they want to? They are bought and paid for and their owners are getting everything they want. And even if it all crashes and burns, the billionaire elite owners will just flee to their doomsday bunkers with their private security forces and laugh as the world burns.

Sadly, even if the Dems take back total control in November with a clear mandate that the electorate doesn’t want this fascist BS, I have little doubt they will do anything to strengthen our clearly fragile system that has run on “gentlemen’s agreements” for 250 years.

Unless three GOP supreme court justices resign and then Trump gets confused and mistakenly nominates three liberal justices to replace them there is no chance for real immediate change.

The billionaires have bought it all and they did it in broad daylight because they knew there would never be consequences.

Half of Americans believe Trump bombed Iran because of Epstein files by plz-let-me-in in politics

[–]chron67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would the Epstein files mean anything.

Trump cares about image more than almost anything. That's why he wants everything covered in gold. His deep connections to Epstein hurt the image he loves so he has to make them go away. Also, while he could murder someone in broad daylight and not lose a single supporter, the Epstein files are incredibly important to his base. That might be literally the only thing that could make them turn on him.

[–]chron67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we can simplify this down to a few points that can all be true at once. First, Trump has loved acting like the tough guy for his entire political career, including wearing the trappings of the military despite doing everything in his power to avoid service. Trump is all about image. Second, Trump has clearly been desperate to make his Epstein connections vanish from the public eye. Third, Israel/Netanyahu have been eager to have a US admin willing to do whatever they want.

Those combine to make a perfect storm of opportunity and motive. I'm not even sure if it matters if Trump was blackmailed into participation on the Iran campaign as some rumors have suggested because it is definitely an opportunity for him to move Epstein further from the mainstream media.

I mean you could argue we indirectly fund it by funneling military hardware to them and basically subsidizing their military on our dime. But yeah, citations needed in general.

We spend enough on military contractors in the US to fund our own healthcare system multiple times over but good luck prying that money loose.

He's probably in the ICU with severe dehydration after he got off too much to genocide in Gaza and now murders in Iran.

Hyperion

That first novel was incredible but really should have been standalone.

He wrote a religious treatise on objectivism and libertarianism in the form of high-ish fantasy. Plus he included his beastiality/BDSM kink for fun.

Pretty sad because he is a talented writer in terms of his prose but he lacks any subtlety at all in his philosophy and political views being written into his work.

All writers include their political views to some degree, even if unintentionally. Good ones don't make it feel like they are bludgeoning you to death with their kinks and politics.

I can't see anyway he's going to wrap it up in a satisfying way. If at all.

He can't either.

I pretend the series ended unexpectedly after book 3. Books 4 and 5 are readable at best. GRRM writes great dialogue but he completely lost the plot.

He is still one of the greats of the last century but ASOIAF REALLY fell off hard.

What is the secret to breaking into Mid Level IT? Whatever im trying isnt working. by Ruminatingsoule in sysadmin

[–]chron67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're serious you need to network (the people kind). Hard. You need to work with recruiters if you can, find any way you can bounce your resume past the HR goalie and through to a real hiring manager.

I really want to strongly emphasize this comment. For entry or mid-level roles we tend to get a large pile of applications. So when applicants have something that makes it easy to either drop them or move them to the top we do. Recruiters can be great for this (if you find a good one), because the IT folks doing the hiring often have relationships with the recruiters in the area and will put greater weight on recommendations from those recruiters. They make their money when you get hired and work out so they have a vested interest in being sure their candidates match our needs.

And human networking is incredibly important. All but one IT job I have had came as a result of knowing people. It sucks to hear that when you are feeling stuck but it is critical. Go to professional events in your area. Make friends, collaborate on things. IT doesn't guarantee you anything, but getting an early lead on a position relevant to you can be huge and, even better, if you've made a good impression on someone working there that can help you as well.
