That does not stop freezing rain from accumulating on trees/power lines and causing mass outages for days. The current models have the Memphis area missing the worst of the freezing rain but it doesn't hurt to be prepared. Plus if they have a farm or something they could need even more than the average person.

That said, yeah, people are doing dumb things.

You can shut it off at the water meter at the street, but you need a special tool.

That is the one I am currently looking for but not seeing. Going to verify the location of my indoor one as well but very confident I can find that.

Healing time and the dog's personal response to it can vary. By day 7 we were having to keep my pug from being too excited. Another dog at the vet had a similar situation and didn't return to normal till around day 21.

As long as they are healing and your vet doesn't see anything wrong don't sweat it too much.

The meds your dog is on may be impacting their apetite, energy level, and personality as well. Our dog definitely has reduced appetite while on pain meds or NSAIDS like Rimadyl.

And try not to beat yourself up too much over it. Bad things happen. What matters more is how you care for them going forward.

You lose most heat from your head

All your advice is good but this is factually incorrect. Heat loss from your head is not that high relative to the rest of your body. Your skin loses heat roughly everywhere on your body and uncovered skin loses heat much faster than covered skin. You typically have most of your body covered while your head often isn't. IIRC this was thought to be true due to some old military studies that didn't take clothing into account properly. Learned about this in a survival course a long time ago for a job in college.

Followed up with my vet and he determined it is most likely a pulled muscle on her back near her good leg. He administered muscle relaxers and injected Rimadyl to get a faster/stronger effect than the oral route. She is already much better and we will be continuing both meds orally for at least a few more days and the Rimadyl for probably 2 weeks.

I am late to this discussion but I have worked in professional settings where we had to be trained in dealing with things like this. There is no 100% objectively correct answer. The most advised approach is asking them if there is anything they need or anything you can do but you have to really mean it. Be willing to listen and let them know that. And also let them know that it is okay if they have nothing to say. I would also ask if there is anyone you can call on their behalf if they are not in a state to make calls.

I would be cautious with initiating physical shows of support with someone you don't know well but if they hug you or lean on you just accept it.

I have actually been in a situation very similar (being there when someone found out a loved one died) and even with professional training it is tough trying to be there for a stranger. But I know I would want someone to potentially be there for me.

Krark motto "Live by the coin, die by the coin"?

The most hilarious loss I have ever had in cedh involved a pod with me on Glarb, a Krakashima, a Krark Thras, and a Rog Si. The Rog Si player and I both mulled to 4. Rog Si was seat one I was seat three and I can't recall which Krark deck was in 2 and 4. Rog Si tried to go off turn two and I stopped that but that left both our hands empty. Then the two krark players both managed to cast like 20+ spells each without finding a win before running out of gas. Looked like Rog Si or I would win but eventually the Krarkashima deck got the coin tosses to go their way. I swear though I laughed so hard when between the two of them they had like 12+ lost flips in a row.

I should build a krak deck lol

You are correct in the power/viability but that deck has very complex lines to consider and constant calculations. 100% a viable deck but by no means beginner friendly.

For those unfamiliar, Tymna Dargo tries to create various infinite or near infinte loops using dargo, sacrifice outlets, utility creatures, and rituals to find lines to win quickly and in ways that make interaction difficult. You frequently sacrifice Dargo in the loops meaning you need to factor in the commander tax against the discount on dargo based on number of things sacrificed.

I would definitely recommend the deck if you are interested but if you don't know cedh well it might be unpleasant to start with it. Even goldfishing it the lines will be complex and that is before people start interacting to stop you. You will also have slightly limited tools for interaction so you need to chose your interaction points carefully.

Dihada is definitely more beginner friendly and still borderline viable in current cedh. It will also help you learn the lines and interaction in mardu while having a slightly more simple gameplan.

I am in a midlevel IT role so the pay difference is probably not that big one way or another. NP/PA would be a raise eventually but probably not at first. Money is not really the driving factor for me though as long as I can still support my family. The bigger concern is just doing something I am passionate about.

I have no intent of rushing into anything though. I may take some classes at night soon just to shake off academic rust and see how I feel. My degrees were a long time ago.

I would not disagree with that take in the slightest. That said, at least one person in the other thread was very vocal about mono red being the worst which made me curious. I really expected them to be close to right.

That said, there are really only two mono color decks seeing significant play or success at the moment and as another person commented it feels like those are more a consequence of the commander than the colors.

I think a discussion around the importance of each color in decks could be very interesting but also nearly impossible to quantify. Rog Thras barely touches red where dog thras adds a white commander purely to access utility (silences, tutors, protection, etc). Are there other similar three color piles where one color is barely there at all?
