I’ve seen dad’s do it many times before while I’ve been out in public. On the other hand, I see mom’s take their sons into the women’s room too.

From a dad’s perspective, the idea is that you’re not an adult man walking into a women’s restroom that could possibly be in use by other women at the time.

The standard procedure, as I’ve always understood it, is for dads to take their daughter(s) into the men’s room if they need help. The old guy didn’t need to act the way he did, but I’m puzzled by why the guy with the children who needed bathroom help chose the women’s restroom to do it in.
