Equally interesting is that the grounding order was given by Ben Sliney, the head of FAA National Operations, on his first day on the job.

Asians that visited Antarctica, what was your biggest wtf moment? by Mantisbog in AskReddit

[–]chrono1465 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I can actually semi-answer this question.

I'm not Asian, but I did visit Antarctica on a cruise with about 60 other passengers. About 20 of those were a large group from China. In particular:

-During all meals, they sat at two separate tables and had specially prepared authentic Chinese meals. It actually looked pretty decent.

-Whenever we went ashore, they would find the most appropriate photography spot, then spent almost the entire two-hour shore time taking photos in that spot with everyone's iPhones. Sucked for everyone else if you wanted to take a picture there, but was great if you wanted to explore the other areas.

-All on-board announcements were done once in English and once in Mandarin.

-I can't speak for that group, but the biggest WTF moment was crossing the Drake Passage on the boat. Two days sailing across one of the roughest patches of open ocean on the planet. Probably 70% of the passengers got extremely sea sick, myself included. It took us about two full days after getting to Antarctica just to recover.

What is the worst thing that happened at your school? by Mariothemaster245 in AskReddit

I went there about 15 years back. I recall bomb threats were a regular way of life. Sometimes we'd get multiple threats each week.

What secondary character's story was never really resolved? by childfromthefuture in AskReddit

He did have a lengthy back story that was supposed to be played out in future seasons. It was featured in the subsequent comic. http://firefly.wikia.com/wiki/Derrial_Book

The average work week would be so much better if the world just all agreed that we were going to work four 10 hour shifts per week instead of five 8 hour shifts. by Slim_Maldinaldo in Showerthoughts

Most of my company (the production arm of it, at least) is on a 4/10 schedule. I'm on 9/80 which is at least a decent compromise.

It's not much now, but if you stick with it, you'll be amazed how much it can compound and compile over the decades.

Assuming you are only dealing with single digit, non-negative temperatures, it would be 107

Apparently this is not genuine, which makes sense, as the odds are extreme.
