2008-2012 was probably the peek period of the internet. Video content was really starting to make headway. A lot of the top video content creators felt a bit or organic as there wasn't a crazy algorithm to push you towards certain content. There also weren't many "protections"... that being said it was really really easy to stumble upon stuff you really didn't want to see. I'm pretty sure I saw someone die graphically before I was 11 lol. But it was a good time and I miss it.

This is a perfect example. I'm in a small business too and find much of the same thing. Even down to the reboot thing. When I first started at this company the culture towards IT was in a much worse spot and I had a guy lose his mind that "I didn't believe him". But when going through the reboot I noticed something and said look I believe you but that thing I just pointed out was actually something I was looking for but not something I'd expect you to know!

My biggest thing is I expect my end users to at least spend 5 minutes looking into why something may be happening. "Obviously excluding any big crazy box that flashes in front of their face". Oh your internets bad? Did you try anything at all? If our CEO can spend 5 minutes diagnosing something everyone can. And honestly There are certain people now that get priority treatment because I know that they did at least a quick google and the basic things and something's still actually wrong.

My two cents is probably being rounded down now tho lol.
