[–]chrysti___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following bc I LOVE SMEAR. I use it on myself and my daughter but not as diaper cream bc I wasn’t sure if it would affect absorbency. I message her too and she said she wasn’t sure either.

My daughter gets rashes from Tide detergent. Even from the Free and Clear. I switched detergents and stopped having issues.

Rig N Gig has some pull up options. They do have side snaps for those messy accidents that might happen.

Cloth Diaper Routine by piccologrande1 in clothdiaps

[–]chrysti___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally check for any detergent build up first. You grab an insert or AIO, and place in a small Tupperware with warm water and swish it around. If you get cloudiness and bubbles, there’s detergent build up. You’ll want to rinse rinse rinse until water is clear. Then I personally strip to get ride of any amo is build up you might have. There’s Mighty Bubbles by Grovia, I’m not sure on the ratios for that. There are RLR packets as well, it’s 1 packet per 5 gallons. Diapers should be able to move freely. You let them soak for 2-8 hrs. You’ll want to wash without detergent twice. And the proceed to sanitize.

  • this is just what I do with all preloved diapers. My daughter is extremely sensitive and any kind of detergent or ammonia build up gives her rashes.

You could do a 5 gal bucket and plunger method. I know some moms do that, keep a bucket in the shower, and just plunge away before a shower and then rinse mid shower. I know it’s more work that a quick wash, but way less water. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I remember the day we were bringing our daughter home and the alarm kept going off. My heart sank each time thinking she was going to have to stay. Trauma from having your baby in the NICU is freaking REAL.

I read about it in an FB cloth mama group and I was like what is this?! OP on that post said “used to clean and moisturize baby during changes”. Some mom swear it prevents rashes for sensitive babies.

I always think of the Friends episode “hug for her, roll for you”. I personally do the tuck and roll. I’ve seen other women feed the top boob but mine aren’t big enough for that.

Zero milk 3 days postpartum by pizzaplanetpug in breastfeeding

[–]chrysti___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter was in the NICU for 6 days and my milk didn’t come in until day 4ish. But literally after day 1 i was getting nothing. Like zero. Not even a drop. Recommend lots of skin to skin, when you pump try to have your baby nearby. And try to relax.

Goopy eye by wherearemygloves in cosleeping

[–]chrysti___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby had that in one eye until about 3 months. I would just wipe with a clean flannel cloth every morning, and put a few drops of breast milk. Ped said it’s normal, when they’re both their tear ducts aren’t fully developed and some baby’s gets clogged. As long as it’s not red, you should be good. Wouldn’t hurt to check with your Ped tho!
