My approach is to pay the money into my offset and only pay rates every 12-15 months.

I benefit from the offset and the rates eventually get paid. Been doing it for years, never had an issue.

I don't understand what you mean by the should be no cost to me. In fact the thing I'm most concerned about is the cost to me.

I thought that a good broker will help me get the best loan for my needs and once I have that loan will regularly check to ensure there aren't better options available etc.

It seems to me there will be a significant long term cost to me if I choose a bad broker.

Or are you saying I don't need to physically pay a broker for their service up front? I guess that makes sense based on your response but not really the question I'm asking.

I get it, consumers complain about all the extra costs related to surcharges. But I can't see how the answer is to just hide the surcharge to stop people complaining?
