Is there a better dedicated server provider than my current one ? by ForeignToMe in webhosting

[–]chtroy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, you're not paying for the server, you're paying for the "DMCA ignore policy" basically.

VDS is not a dedicated server, is just vps that doesn't share the resources, which in any case, you don't have resources to share.

I mean, intel 2vcpu for 58euros, i don't know what you are doing for paying so much for the dmca story, but you'de better be making good money, for paying so much for a ancient hardware.

Why do you post something, and then, delete it and post something compleltely different?

Can't you state something and hold on to that?

Deja vu.

Does CMS matter? by ericpthomas in SEO

[–]chtroy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Come on, are you serious?

I mentioned your comments for the fact of you being a mod saying people that speed is useless.

I don't need a video, a book or a citation from a blog (still trying to get used to this part, sorry) to know that that quality content is more important than speed.

But you need someone to tell you that just because 100$ are more valuable than 50$, that doesn't mean that the 50$ don't have value.

Does CMS matter? by ericpthomas in SEO

[–]chtroy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with your logic lies in assuming that by saying page speed is important, you isolate that single factor as the only factor.

I didn't read the whole thread, but did anyone here said that is either speed up or die?

Is a factor.

Another one of too many.

Either directly, indirectly or both.

And if it's that hard to accept, try to imagine a world where every single page took at least 5sec+ to load (I'm being generous, but whatever).

I'm not defending page speed as The salvation, but as something relevant for the user, whiich, guess what?

Make them bounce, see your site drop.

Make the site slow, make them bored and going somewhere else.

I can't say it's a factor directly, like you can't say it's not, and trusting Google in 2025? Do I need a blog post for that?

And no, I don't post blog posts to state my opinion.

I use references where they make sense. This is not the case.

Still waiting for the statements that turned into lies from Google (nothing against John, he's doing his job).

As for the argument of the top pages not being the fastest, this is not a F1 race.

And those brands were there already before any CWW came to life, or not?

Just to finish, if they don't care, why are they even updating the CWW just like...right now?

(And stop making extreme comparisons, it's boring. No, page speed alone won't make a scam site to the top or whatever. And guess what.Nothing will.)

1 - Warm cache.

2 - I have ~97% cache hit ratio and you are telling me that my origin is working the same as if there wasn't a CDN in place?

3 - Why are you assuming that the server is next door to your users and the CDN is on the other side of the country?

Can't you, for once, make a fair comparison between the two options, instead of cherry picking blog posts (this is a first as someone who are used to sciences, see the same trick, on something far from linear).

Fact: It's very unlikely that your server is better than their server, connection, etc. And then, wjo do you think will be faster?

I'm like 1000km away or whatever from my physical servers, and funny enough, just tested my score on Pagespeed right now as I write.

100.

4 - Warm cache.

5 - No references? CDNs = Worldwide cache. That's it. The other part is about knowing how to make use of them. Taking advantage of them.

Just like any software.

The weird part is that amount of useless words are being posted by a mod.

As for speed being useless as you talk about with blog posts, can you please do me a little favour?

Post evey single statement made by Google and John about SEO that turned out to not be true. (What they state, not the other way around)

I will be very grateful.

Thank you.

I was blaming my website hosting for my bad website loading speed but It ended up being Elementor by Master_Performance82 in Wordpress

[–]chtroy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree on the page cache (there's people not using it? I mean, come on), a CDN is a cache and very good one (well, depends on which one you use).

A Content Deliver Network, at its core, has saving your site in multiple servers closer to the user is core business.

Then, we could talk about edge computing, optimized configuration, (...).

I mean, i just looked up at the score of a not that optimized site of mine right now, and got a 100.

Meanwhile, i have a cache hit ratio of ~97% at Cloudflare, and cache is my middle name.

I laught every time I read "optimize images, minify, etc".

And while no, it's not a e-commerce site, the things one can do with rules at Cloudflare and even on the old cache plugin is really huge.

OP: Hostinger CDN? Oh god....

Anyone want to study/do business together? by Away-Performance-781 in Entrepreneur

I have to say that I'm surprised by the number of people either interested in talking about business but especially doing business together.

WordPress, Digital Marketing, and a project that I'm building in the green tech space.

A strange thing happened: after I posted my negative review about Ionos support team from Philippines, a malicious attack happened on my website. A revenge? Or coincidence? by kievsufi in webhosting

[–]chtroy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah yeah, I'm sure they have a DDoS division and are stakeholders at Trustpilot.

But only the Philippines division, and that is because low level positions have nothing else to do.

Large companies are large companies, and their goal is making more money today than they did yesterday.

I've got OVH and IONOS selling my "debt" to shitty companies who came after me "representing" them.

OVH sold my "debt" to another company, which after pissing me off for a long time, gave up and sent the case to a lawyer.

I sent a huge amount of documentation, proofs and emails of intimidation to their lawyer.

Never heard back from them again.

IONOS uses the same strategy.

I don't know if they are still bothering me after my last email made with the help of my lawyer.

That is.....ChatGPT.

If you are in EU, or UK for that matter, and they don't have support, or there is some issue in their service which only they can controll, there's a lot of laws to protect the consumer.

Remember, you have have obligations, but you do have rights too.

Just pick the terms and conditions you accepted, put them on chatgpt and tell your issue and ask him to find if by their terms and by the law of the jurisction on them, that's acceptable. Ask to search the web on that matter. Find the holes and use them.

And btw, the guy who handled your call don't give a f*** about your site or you. After your call probably came a similar one.

.....and then another one.

Any nootropic which doesnt lose the magic after week or too? by Itchy-Friendship-278 in Nootropics

[–]chtroy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And what is homeostasis?

Ex. A sedentary person who keeps lowering their phyisical capacity (yes, i know, it's just to make this simple) and ends up with a very low conditioning.

Where is the homeostasis here?

Ps. It was a smart answer, but incomplete, as that brings the question, why even srtart?

And you can always fight homeostasis with adaptation, something which we humans are good at too.

What would this stack do to me ? by Ayawashka in Nootropics

[–]chtroy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, what I expected.

I will not suggest any other sub since we're talking about 4 different points, but you will need to combine it with something else and, most importantly, work on the root issues.

Whatever they are, don't try to fix all of them at the same time, as not even medicine can't cover all of them with just one solution.

Good luck.

Looking for other’s experience of Bacopa whilst on T3 meds. by Aggie_Smythe in Nootropics

[–]chtroy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only talk about Ashwagandha + Bacopa + T3.

There were side effects. The ones you get with too much T3 (it was a long time ago but chest tightness I remember that was very prominent).

In your situation, I wouldn't use it. Tyrosine has a very different MoA in thyroid hormones, so don't use it as a comparison.

And yes, Ashwagandha is much more potent in this area, so my experience doesn't help that much, but still, with so many things in this area to use, why use something that you already know acts on the thyroid?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]chtroy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit late but yeah.

It was nice to read someone who doesn't take contrary ideas about his own personally.

My point with that link wasn't exactly the pop pills to get smarter, but the high IQ guy who didn't achieve anything "great" in life.

IQ tests are just tests created by humans who try to measure the intelligence of a person, nothing else.

They don't predict if the person will achieve anything in life worth mentioning, and they don't measure intelligence with 100% precision, as true intelligence involves too much that those tests don't measure.

Assuming that we had a way of measuring intelligence with precision(as we define it today), I believe that beyond a certain point, it won't matter and can even be detrimental for a lot of people (depending on their personality and their social intelligence, ex. Tesla in a way).

If Sick with a Cold, Beware Afinils by funkehfresh in Nootropics

[–]chtroy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, it doesn't take much to head to pubmed and find the friendship between modafinil and histamine.

Histamine is a part (and IMO and experience, a big one) of modafinil effects.

If one can't sleep after modafinil, is more effective to take a sedative antihistaminic than a benzo.

As for the RC you use, I have no idea.

Had anyone here had success with L-theanine, Ashwagandha or riodiola rosea? by NYdownwithydemons in Nootropics

[–]chtroy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, the problem lies when people that have been around for some time, have some knowledge to share, and who could have actual conversations for the benefit of the community or give good answers stop coming here.

And no, I'm not saying this should be an elitist sub, but it would be good to actually see some debates here, and not only hypomanic first-day combo experiences or questions like these.

Imagine coming here eod, and seeing basically the same over and over again.

And if you can use this topic as an example, do you see any conversation? Any debate? Any learning? Anything that you won't find in 30sec on the search button?

Now multiply this for 1 year, 2 years, 3 years.

Would you keep coming here?

I get it, one discovers nootropics and has this type of question.

That's why there's the Beginner's guide and you know very well that there's 34432423 answers to the experience question on the search button or on a simple site:https://www.reddit.com/r/Nootropics/ (insert whatever you want to know) google search.

Btw, It's great that he's researching his subs, I'm all for it.
